Whats the best Jacket and Pants for deep powder?

Has anyone else tried the new vertical series from FXR this year. I have worn a Klim jacket for a few days of riding and just don't see the glitz and glamour of it. I have never been as happy with my gear selection as I have this year, warm, dry, and you can't even feel the coat on you!!!! As many other people have also said, base layers are the key I do not care what gear you have on.

I have been out probably 20 times this year. I have had the powder so deep it was piling up in my helmet while I was standing on my running boards! There is nothing that compares to Klime. Anybody who says that there equipment does has never worn it.

Well i'am not in the mountains eveyday not even every week, we go once a year.I have not tryed any of this new stuff thats out. I have an old pair of leather pants(Polaris/Hien Gericke) that i have worn for years, now i'am not up to my arm pits in powder evey time I ride but it does get kinda cold up here in Minnesota. My A$$ has never been wet and i can't even say it has ever been cold. I'am sure that all this new stuff is great but until my leathers stop working i will stay in them. Last year out in Tog a couple of young guns laught at my riding buddie and I when we doned our old leather cross country racing gear,at the end of the day we were just as dry as they where. At 50 years old it gets had to change some times!

There are clothes out there that are just as equal to or better than klim. TOBE clothing is by far lighter than klim and is just as warm. TOBE clothing also looks better than most other manufactuers. If u have not tried TOBE clothing you need to. You will never use anything different

Another Vote for KLIM

As far as lightweight goes, I really like my Togwotee Bibs, extremely light, yet very warm, dry, and comfortable :D

I also have the Klimate coat, and it is a single "heavy" coat, not a windbreaker. I can honestly say I have NEVER been cold with it, but have been HOT a few times, that was when the bottom half zipper came in handy.

The stuff is spendy, but WELL WORTH THE $$$

I believe snow board apparrel is the better stuff. 20 years of skiing and sledding 686 has been the best for me for ease of movement and keeping me dry.

I wear the Cabela's goretex bibs w/ 150 gram ultra thinsulate insulation. They work great and are affordable, around $110. I have not been wet once this year when everyone else in the group has been cold and wet. My jacket works great, it is an old work coat made by Blauer. It has a thinsulate liner and goretex shell. I layer and wear Cablela's fleece pants and a fleece pullover. For gloves, for next season I am getting the TNA gloves. If they are anything like their Lightning backpack, they'll be awesome.:D
