Whats a good pair of goggles

Do you have to buy the 509s in clear? I can't see where you can get them with anything else without paying more. And is their blue a light blue like the Oakleys? I love the light blue for all conditions. I have found Amber lens goggles too dark at night. You can still see but not as well as with the light blue lens.

Honestly the only thing I would like to have about the 509s is the added foam. I had a mild spot of what I can only describe as frostbite where my goggles didn't seal between my goggle sides and helmet. Other than that, they don't fog unless I do something stupid like breath right in them, clear quick, and I can see great.

Mine came with the Chrome/Amber (Orange on their website) lenses in them. I think that is the standard lense in all of the 509 goggles. You can order the blue as an additional lense.

Spy is the only way to go!!! Some of these others are good but you get what you pay for in optics. Spy does one thing and thats optics so you know they are good at what they do, Omega and Zed are the best 2. However an entry level targa you can buy for 40 bucks does a great job.

Anybody use the Habervision MTX goggles? how well do they fit your helmet? I've had issues with my 509's fitting either of my 2 helmets.

It depends....

I use the SPY Magneto, its a MX frame( b/c of the silicone bead on the strap ) and fits my helmet( Fox V3 ) perfectly , its the one I like as well as the one I WOULD tell you to sport as well. BUT it totally depends on what fits your face and the frame of the helmet, bottom line! .
Anything else beyond that is just spouting and wishful thinking, I mean if the goggle frame doesn't fit the helmet well then you'll know it pretty quick and if doesn't make a good seal against your face while mounted on the helmet your eyes will tear at speed!

So...Spy, Oakley, 509, Scott etc.... the only one that will really be able to tell the difference is you man!
