What turbo kit

I will tell you to go with a CPC stage 2 or 3 kit, you will love it.. My buddy who lives out on the coast runs a boondocker kit that works very well. Don't rush your install and do it right the first time and it doesn't matter too much who's kit you go with. But go with the CPC;)

But the boondocker kit is faster as you have seen first hand :face-icon-small-dis

turbos ?

For what its worth,I run OVS 8lbs av gas on my 09 m8 same elevations and very happy with the kit and customer support. travis and gar, cant say enough about the customer support!

With Dale... it seems to me that he treats everyone like they're a friend & he makes things right. (though I have yet to have any issues that required "righting" because he puts out a product THAT WORKS.)

I didn't want to turn this into a "dale is better than rocky" post... but, well... yeah.

Well, as much as Dale knows and as much as i respect him for doing what he does, I have had a defective set of weights from him that he offered to give me a discount on a new set....discount on re-buying something that was defective....not really what I was looking for.

I have a friend that bought throttle bodies that Dale personally said at the SLC show would fit a sled....and they didn't fit when they showed up. He offered very little help. No one is perfect, everyone has issues. There are are CPC turbos around here running far from good, a couple needing reconfigured fuel controllers to run well. Again, it's all part of the game, they aren't all spot on. I can say that none of the BD M8 setups around here are ordering new pistons after a few miles....take it for what its worth.

LOL, you bastard, how dare you! We'll see about that when I throw on the new track. :)

You will need more then a track :face-icon-small-hap Just face it and live with it . It's the boondocker kit it's better . Just having a little snowest fun . I have found most m8 kits work well no need to bash any brand !

kits

They all work. The key is how they are installed and tuned. Now let me expand on what I mean.
Did you install properly?
Did you vent it?
Did you clutch it right?
Do you have a clue how to tune it?
Do you run proper fuel?

As I analyze the turbo kit world I came to this conclusion all kits work its the above that matters most.

I was hoping to get out your guy's way riding this year so maybe I can come run with the rest of the BD clan sometime:smile:.

Absolutely. Best post so far.

Everyone has thier own experiences and opinions... My experience and opinion with boondocker pretty much sucked. I have had 2 boondocker boxes on N/A and one booted and really don't like them. The PL box is so much easier to tune not even funny, didn't get good tech support from them either. I wouldn't go back.

Have had great success with OVS, my sled still has the odd issue here and there but when it does I call or text Travis and I have ANSWERS the same day. I talk to the same guy every time and can solve the problems... That goes a long way for me.

The forum can shed some light on who's turbo kit works... Pretty much every time you see a "sled bogs, won't run right" post it's a boondicker kit... Maybe it's because they have more kits out there? I'm thinking it's because they are tougher to tune.

I have boondockers latest of everything and it runs fantastic.!!

Just came off a Turbo Apex and thought I would be disappointed with the power. It is different power but it gets me where I want to go and has been amazing to me.

Climbed so prety crazy chutes!

Yet it is light and nimble too.

Really like it.

Ha funny chit, how's things Sammy, looks like you got out of Cairo just in time hey?

Not too bad, it warmed up to -30 over here so things are looking up lol:) How's things back home? Sled still running great? Yeah I got out of there in the nick of time! I am always seeming to miss bombings or revolutions by a couple of weeks! Knock on wood I guess. I'm back on the 18th, wrenching/jet lag sleeping on the 19th and riding from there on out:) I'll give you a hollar when I get back into country buddy!

I just bought a Boondocker pump gas turbo kit from Vohk for my 2010 M8 and had them install and tune everything including clutching. Runs flawless. It was tuned to 91 octane fuel with a 1/2 gal of Toluene per tank. Based on my riding style Vohk recommended the stock head with lower boost pressures for crisp throttle response. It has a boost controller that changes boost pressure as a function of altitude. I run it from 8K to about 11k. I think the pressure changes from around 4~7 psi based on altitude, but quite frankly I never look down at any of the gages as I just ride it. This was my first turboed sled and it is wicked fun. From idle to 1/2 throttle it feels just like stock, above that it just makes you grin. It is hard to hold on. I have run it on the trail, in meadows and hills and have found no weekness. Nice crisp throttle response. Good on gas also as I found I was only needing about 1 gal more fuel per day than my buddies stock sleds.

I did receive a little instuction from Vohk on tuning the BD box but it was not necessary. What I did learn from that leason is the Bd controller is a lot more complicated than I assumed. The tuning instructions that comes with the kit from BD suck. I am glad I hired Vohk.

Regards,

Like many have said... the installer is HUGE. Erik, Justin, Dale, Shain, Trav & Garr... I think if you get any of them to do the install... you'll get your $$ back in happiness & time NOT spent dicking with it!! :D

Erik is a great tuner & it's good to hear happy customers of his. I REALLY wanted to have him put my kit on my new sled (he's only about 45 min from me)... but just couldn't bring myself to buy another BD product!
