What to get during the wait?

All that stuff is great but I'm desperately waiting for someone to market a set up for mounting a muff pot to this beast.

Hey JD where do you find that Gauge lifter?? Also, I need a few different weights, should I get one set of slp's or just buy a few of polaris's. Not used to this since I came off a Doo.

Here is the link for the Guage lifter. Also SKinz sells the same lifter.

As far as weights I still use Polaris weights but all I have rode is Polaris so I've had all the weights I need for a while now. Depending on how many sets of weights you would need you might be better off to just get SLP weights. You will also need the tool to install and remove the rivets for the weights. I just don't know if its justifiable switching to SLP weights when I allready have the Polaris ones for the cost of the weights and tool.

Things to get while I'm waiting for my new Pro:

Callaway RAZR Tour 3 wood
New shoes for my KXF
Odyssey Putter
Money to buy sled parts
Cool balacalva for my TLD SE3
Replacement gloves for Motorfist WOTs
Sled deck
Fix splash rail on boat

Oh, sorry, here's the real list for Pro STUFF:

Need better boards, mebbe Skinz
need cooler clutches
orange Klim jacket so buds can spot me when "detained"
20/45 gearing

You don't even wanna get me started on all my other lists!

I can't decide on better boards or the skinz. Obviously a huge price difference. I hate the idea throwin my warranty on the tunnel out the door, but then again, if anything serious happens, insurance comes into play.

Outside of sled parts, I need to get a beacon, probe etc... :face-icon-small-con

Summer is gonna be really short if I try hard enough to have everything by the time my sled is here! :face-icon-small-sho

Here are my mods:

-Buy some extra hood clips (part #7710630) see pic below (#3).

Funny you mention that, the 2012 600 demo I've been riding needs two already(600 miles). What a pain in the arse when yer on the hill. I'll be ordering those right up.

I have the Muffpot mounted on my Pro and works great. Simply mounted on the pipe right where it goes into the can. Had to cut a small piece of heat shield away but has been there all season and no problems. Gotta have the hot food on the trail.

stock up on fuel over the summer, so you an afford to ride it next winter..

summer and winter blend fuels are different. Summer fuel does not burn quite as well in the winter. They add other stuff to make it easier to ignite in the winter.

i put my money down on a pro 800 155. how are the stock skis? i have a set of c&a xtx that i was thinking abotu putting on it. i'm liking the skinz airframes. anyone know a clutch set up for us flat landers? i don't need anything up 10,000ft. more like 4-6 at the absolute most and thats being a bit high.

i'm jumping to polaris from doo and am excited for next winter.

Stock skis work great, but I'll be puting XTXs on my '12 Assault because I got used to them and liked them. I had them on my '11 SB Assault, jumped on my dad's '11 RMK and immediatly missed them. I'll be keeping the Grippers for backups tho.

Only mods I'm thinkin about for the summer is a tunnel wrap, a longer snowflap, and maybe a Comp Track for early and end of season riding... it doesn't NEED anything tho :face-icon-small-coo

Better Boards
Skinz front and rear bumpers
Tether (if ordered from Polaris, it is plug and play)

I almost don't consider Better Boards and extra, Just a must. For sure they will go on out of the box.

picking up one of these tommorow to help pass the time...

Ok, update i guess. maybe get some other guys thinking and refresh me on more ideas.

Still no sled.

But, I have, or have on the way....

Taylor footwell covers
handguards
polaris skid plate
WRP lifter
muffpot
Polaris underhood bag
got all the tools I need
have most clutching stuff, still wanting some different weights springs to test with.

wanting skinz airframes......we all know this situation...
trying to decide between lefties or gold finger left hand throttle

Really need to get on the move with these items, but torn and really have no idea what to get...

#1 New boots! Motorfist sound awesome, but 200gram thinsulate worries me. I have poor circulation and tend to get very cold feet and hands. And obviously they're new and no reviews.

#2 Backpack.... No idea... any suggestions???? Love all my Klim stuff, nac pack or the big one??? Or what else should I try?

#3 still need beacon/probe/shovel etc... can't seem to read enough about one or the other to decide, but don't wanna waste my $ on junk.

#4 also thinking I need to decide on a different riding coat. Bought a Klim klimate last year and really thinking I'm not in need of an insulated coat. Great for cold trail riding type days, but any movement and I'm sweating like crazy.

#5 I'd like to get a rack and ability to haul fuel if needed. My fat @ss requires more go juice to move me around the mountain than my buddies...

Gimmie some ideas guys, I love blowing money on the sport, but can never make decisions :face-icon-small-ton

I'm not sure how much you want to carry survival wise but the nac pack is pretty small. I checked one out at my dealer yesterday and decided to go with the krew pack instead so I can fit a well stocked survival kit in my pack.

I picked up a BCA DTS tracker with probe (package deal on ebay) for a pretty good deal. The DTS is SUPER easy to use. Very straight forward and simple. I would recommend it.

I have the Klim Tomahawk jacket and love it. It's just a shell but I ride with underarmor on and stay completely warm even on super cold days. It's very comfortable with easy mobility.

One other thing I did with my sled was trim the stock windshield down about 3 inches off the top (cosmetic only but it might give you something to tinker with). It turned out really cool looking.

When I bought my 08 Dragon a couple years back it came with a lefty throttle on the pro taper bars and I hated it. I couldn't fit my whole hand on the bars and it shorted out my bar warmers from being clamped down on the wires. It went away after the first ride. IMO you really don't need lefty throttle anymore with how easy these sleds are to lean over now days. I only used my lefty back in the day so I could grab my mountain bar on my old edge to get it tipped over to the left. Now I can keep both hands on the bars at all times and sidehill both ways no prob. Just my thoughts.
