this is our first year snowmobiling, we both really like it. we ride and live in colorado. she has a 2000 polaris trail rmk 550 now but wants a little more power but more importantly easier to handle sled. she is about 5' 10" and 130lbs. we are not biased to one brand over another, just the best bang for the buck. we are going to have to buy used, somewhere between 4 to 5grand to spend. any suggestions would be very helpfull.:D

M7 you can find this for around 4500. It's nice and light and handles great. In my opinion it's the best bang for the buck. I just got my wife one last week and it's seems like it'll be perfect for her. Enough power to ride the powder and climb, but not too much power either. (it's alot of fun for me to ride too.)

Well said great sled one of arctic cats best

My wife has been VERY happy on her 06 RMK 600. Light, smooth power band, easy and predictiable handling, PERC and most important to her, a Woman friendly seat.

Sled for your wife

I bought a 07 RMK 600 for my daughter. She is about the same height and weight as your wife. It works real well for her. She can start it when it is warm as well. It is a fun machine to ride. Enjoy.

m7 best bang, plus you also want something that she can grow into with experience...m7 is a great handler and has ok power and is easy to mod later for a bit more power if she ever wants it!

another vote for the 600 rmk in the iq chassis. Bullet prooof, snappy light and reverse. Hard to beat. Don't knock the lil 6 'til you have ridden one!

Another vote for the 07 Polaris RMK 600 I bought one for my wife and it's more fun to ride than my D8. So easy to toss around, great balance, good power!!

My wife rides an 08 600rmk 144, she loves it. Very easy for her to learn to side hill, carve and climb on. We live in B.C. so it is all mountain riding and lots of powder for her, and she does great on her sled. If I was to do it again I would have got her a longer track or maybe the assualt. Should note that when she rides my m8 she says it takes alot more work to make it do what she wants.

another vote for the rmk 600!

Another vote for the IQs... easier to lay over and handle than the others in a stock setup from what i've seen. The 600s have a lot more power than people give them credit for. Drop a big bore in it and let 'er rip :D

I would have her go and sit and move around on a couple of sleds before you buy. My wife says the new rmk's seat are to high to swing her leg over to get from one side to another. I wish polaris would offer a shorter seat height option on their new sleds something like 3" shorter.

I just bought my wife a new 08 M6 (her birthday present). She loves it. She only has about 140 miles on it but I know she won't go back to her old 98 Powder Special. I rode if for a couple of miles the other day and it rips pretty good in the meadows.
