Here's how I see it.

Polaris has an amazing sled in the Pro-RMK, with further improvements for 2013. It still has some occasional engine gremlins, although a 4 year warranty makes it a risk worth taking. Everyone who has a Pro loves it...to the point of being a little gay about it.

Ski-Doo. The ETEC is a fantastic motor, some clutching/belt issues on the 800's but fixes are available. The XM is unproven as yet, but shows lots of promise and is getting a lot of demo time this spring. The Doo faithful should be happy.

Cat. Lots of good mixed with lots of bad. Sounds like a great chassis, but until the belt issue is definitively solved its a non-player. Cat dropped the ball for sure, it'll take a while to get everyones confidence back.

Yamaha. Nothing new here. Fantastic reliability, great turbo platform. Waaaay too heavy in stock form. Desperately need a new mtn chassis.

Disagree. Really worth it to have it blow and be out 2-4 weeks of prime riding? I know at least 4 guys who had that happen on the 2011 and 2012.

Depends on your dealer. I lost an engine on mine and was back on the snow with a new shortblock less than a week later. I get so sick of the "reliability" arguments. They are all unreliable in the grand scheme of things, it just depends to what extent. I just readily admit that mine is terribly unreliable and call it good. I do wish I had the financial clout to own all 4 brands. That would be fun.

No new stuff for us. We are going to stick with the same 3 sleds we used this year. They are tried and trued plus next year we plan on it being a good year so we will need the money to take more trips >>>>.

Sticking with my 2011 Nytro. Hopefully will be adding boost in some form by this fall.

Riding my '09 700 RMK another year. The Pro-RMK chassis is better, but mine is fitted with SLP's 777 kit, Timbersled's Barkbuster and Mtn Tamer suspensions, Fox Float2 all around, Peak track, and the Team Tied clutch. Still a pull-n-go sled. Changing out the handle bar for a narrower set-up.

either the one I have or a '13 pro with a Suz. 800 in it.

I would love to see that Pro/Suz. combo as well. Really surprised that nobody has done this yet! Would like to find a wrecked M8 and make the ultimate mountain sled. Can't be that bad to fit in the Pro chassis

I figured he meant a '13 ProClimb 800...

Health problems limited me to under 200 miles on the '12 Assault, so I'll be rolling that one forward, but liked the sled so much in the limited time I was on it, I snowchecked a Pro 600 RMK for the gf/kids :face-icon-small-ton

08 700 rmk for me! Looking forward to test riding a new pro, xm and proclimb. May go for a new one after this next season.

You forgot another snowcheck option. Timbersled Mountainhorse. Another option that is becoming very popular. They sold out of the kits this past year. I highly suggest people take a look into them.

I am sticking with the 12 PC 800. This sled is the funnest sled I have ever ridden. Do a custom wrap and some powder coating over the summer and maybe a big bore and she will be ready
