what oil do u use ? polaris only ?

oil

Indy dan says no synthetic oil and will not stand behind a bottom end that has had synthetic. I dont run synthetic i run archer oil have had no problem.
Some people have run synthetic and had no problem. Its your sled run what you think is best

I have ran AMS Interceptor for my D7, D8 and now Pro. I haven't had one burn down. Take it for what it's worth, but I'm sticking to it.

oil

Nothin but Redline for me! Been running it since they started making oil specifically for racing Karts back in the early 80's. I have used their 2 cycle oil in : Racing Karts, ATV's, Dirt Bikes, Street Bikes, Snowmobiles and some of their other products in my collector cars (Porsches), my Dodge Cummins Diesel (my baby!). I am not a big fan of synthetics in my daily driver street cars and trucks though. For those I use Castrol GTX or Valvoline. Synthetics are a great deal more forgiving when the engine gets very hot and won't break down as easily as castor or petroleum based products. I do have to admit though that the old Blendzall castor based oil sure did smell good when burned!!:face-icon-small-hap

My $0.02 worth.

Nothing like a good oil thread, lol..... I think oil is the one thing none of us will ever agree on.

I have run nothing but Polaris Gold in my sleds with no problems.:D

Oh no!! Don't tell me you like Ford Diesels too! Nothing against Ford in general...I put over 400K miles on an Escort I had and my escape has almost 200K!

only Polaris gold has been run in mine and the engine looked like new when I swapped to 06 pistons. Almost everyone I ride with runs Amsoil Interceptor.

To many 900's burn down the mag side piston. Synthetic is tested to provide better lubrication and I am not going to switch from it.

I agree. Synthetic is the only way to go. I know the Polaris Gold is a fine product too. I just use the Redline Synthetic bacause I have been using it so long.

read the thread called..

"crankin' on my 06 900" it will tell you MORE then you ever knew...;)

Here's the thread... it was definitely a good one to follow along no matter what you think.

Hahaha, Mine's a V-10... only has 108K on it so far:D
But I do have 195K on my 94 with a 460 gas guzzler, lol

Ran Polaris Ves Gold ( oh the horor ) for "warranty" purposes then switched to Amsoil Interceptor cause I get it cheap.......3900m stock pistons crank etc!!
Why switch now.

I've run Klotz synthetic snowmobile oil since 100 miles. 2 years later and 1400 miles the old doll still runs strong. I do premix 10oz per tank as a pecaution and use the same oil. Oil lol!!

oh you WILL be switching from it if you think your getting indydans bottom end...unless you dont need a warranty....LOL... ;)

Hmmm, stock bottom and motor in my sled 6 years old with stock 05 crank and pistons running VES gold.

I would hope Dans would last 3 years.

What he said, I run all my 2 stroke engines that have power valves, with Intercerptor, never had an oil related issue.

Redline synthetic and race oil. Burns super clean. Polaris gold used to have major sludge in valves 10 years ago.
