What kind of helmet to buy

Now that I finally got a pair of goggles that work with it I've REALLY been digging my Klim F4 ...

Klim F4 + Scott Turbo 89xi LS's .... great combo :)

Snocross IMO. I have 2 modular helmets but the snaps on the mask freeze solid. Now I wear my motocross helmet and a headsock and love it. Bought my girlfriend a KLIM F4 and wish I had one now. That is the best helmet i've ever seen for sleddin!!

Vega!

I personally have worn many different brands of sno-x helmets, and Vega helmets have gotten my business for life! :)

the lightest, comfortable, etc, etc helmet i have had! i have had some wicked crashes this year, and my head is still attached! good helmet! but, its all personal preference.

I only wear fox helmets but I do think im gonna try a Klim next season. As for your question Moto-x or sno-x style is the only way to go IMO.

Mx for sure. Get used to the goggles and how to take care of them and you will never wear a full face again. Throw an extra pair of goggles in your pack and you are really set. Any time you stop for a break, put your goggles under your hood and let them melt and dry off. The Scott turbo flows are hard to beat and they are relatively cheap. Make sure to buy double pane lenses no matter what brand of goggle you get!!!

Yes that is a MUST! Make sure the goggles are SNOW goggles not dirt or you will have a hell of a time keepin them from fogging and freezing.

I have both, a full face and a snow cross. I find that with the snowcross helmet my peripherile vision is not as good. Also, I have a problem breathing through my nose, and I find that the goggles makes it even harder to breathe. But, each person is different.

It seems everyone on here likes to make fun of the full face helmets.

downhill helmet

I have been wearing a GIRO mountain bike helemt for a cpl yrs now & love it. it hs more room for goggles than MX or SnowX & quite a bit lighter. that being said, you have to find one with few or no vents because they allow alot of air whipping thru. I have anew TLD downhill helmet & MX helmet coming this week & will be anxious to try them out. The downhill is carbon fibre & weighs next to nothing........... you notice how heavy the MX ones are after a day or two wearing that one.
if you think that they aren't strong enuff for us............. those guys take a chit kicking wearing those things too & walk away!!!!
