What is it about Yamaha Riders?

its all about t-yami power.. there are better homes for em.. but man, they got the 4 bangers dialed. i know they are heavy, thats life, but if you keep oil and half decent fuel in them, you CANT blow them up.

Thats only because the guys working there know quality when they see it and like to break up the monotony of their work be checking out the SWEET Yamahas that come rolling through from time to time.

COULDN'T RESIST

I was watching some sledding videos to help me get through summer and I noticed that none of the videos show any yamaha actually jumping. Maybe a cornice drop here or there into deep fluffy snow, but no high angle/hard landing stuff........ You see Skidoo (check), Arctic cat (Check), Polaris (Check)

I wonder why that is?

Is it because Yammie owners know the skid will fold up if they do?

Is it to protect the $25k investment in aftermarket parts that might get a scuff on them if they do?

Is it because Yammie owners know that if they jump their sled, it could cause a medium sized earth quake from the hard landing?

Maybe more CC's actually displace testicle size........

Who knows........

Only one year on the RMSHA circuit, and already have a reputation as a "jumper"...I lost count of how many times a fellow racer would aproach me with a confused look on their face, and say ..."I can't believe how good that thing flies!"

Hands down THE best sled built! Weight is really not an issue when a Yamaha sled can average 2-3 lbs/horsepower on boost. Isn't this lighter than any sled out there? ...Interesting. 51,000 miles on several different Yami's and I can honestly say the only parts I have replaced are belts, hand grips, hiifax, and drive chains. Now that's reliability...oh yeah, I've made it home each time too:face-icon-small-win

I kind of, sort of, supposedly know the guy who is supposed to get production unit #1. We'll see if he's blowing smoke or not.

Your location says "Twin Cities". Would that be Mpls/St. Paul?

Yes, actually Mahtomedi (NE or St. Paul near White Bear Lake)

If you make it up to Haydays, stop by and introduce yourself. We'll have a cold :beer; for you.

We'll be in booths CF4 & 5

Lots of Yamahas and one AC on display :)

the engine is the only yamaha part left on his sled. I don't think that counts as "jumping a yamaha".

When those pictures were taken the whole front end was still Yamaha, some of them are even from when it had a stock tunnel.

I think he has said many times that those are shocks of a stock Nytro RTX SE, so I would say yes and I would hardly say that skis qualify as making a sled a mod sled. why is it so hard to give yamaha a little credit.

I took half those pics. I didn't know yamaha made float evol xs and c&as.

Sorry if I pirated your pics, they are on Drew's photobucket page.

We've had a very good working relationship with Caleb and I wish he would come back on SW, but he explained to me his reasons and I completely understand where he is coming form. He is the ultimate tinkerer and, regardless of brand loyalty, we can all learn a lot from him.
