What is it about Yamaha Riders?

Is this a Ford diesel owner really bagging on a Cummins. Let's just remember that the 6.4 was supposed to fix the 6.0:) I hope for your sake the 6.7 really does fix the last two.

i'm in the market for a new diesel and have been looking lots at the 6.7, I highly doubt i would ever get a 6.0, but i honestly would take a 6.4 any day of the week. we got 2 F-450s on our farm the 08 has been perfect and the 2010 has went to the hospital a few times, but god damn will they go like a raped ape and put power to the ground and still stay in one piece.

I was watching some sledding videos to help me get through summer and I noticed that none of the videos show any yamaha actually jumping. Maybe a cornice drop here or there into deep fluffy snow, but no high angle/hard landing stuff........ You see Skidoo (check), Arctic cat (Check), Polaris (Check)

I wonder why that is?

Is it because Yammie owners know the skid will fold up if they do?

Is it to protect the $25k investment in aftermarket parts that might get a scuff on them if they do?

Is it because Yammie owners know that if they jump their sled, it could cause a medium sized earth quake from the hard landing?

Maybe more CC's actually displace testicle size........

Who knows........

If you want to see one fly talk to Nikolai. I talked with a doo rider that saw him first hand get big air with that thing. The Skinz concept front end trailer shows one getting some good air also.

Throwing down the Gauntlet!!
I think we are going to find some videos of Yamahas catching BIG AIR in this thread now.

Wish I had someone else take pics on our adventures other than myself. awesome pics guys!!

I think it is because everyone that gets into a Yamaha doies so with eyes open. They weight too much, they have bad steering geometer, ackward steering / handlebar location, a bad track, terrible tunnel (pre- 2010), down on power for the mountain class, the list goes on. So peeps are just on here to share their experiences modding / improving their sleds while learning from each other.

Oh yeah. Noit suer how we got one the topic but I have a Cummins 6.7L diesel too. Emissions deleted, H&S tuner, etc. It doesn't matter if if it is my truck or sled, I just can't leave it alone. Bring on the mods... and I rely on forums like this to ask questions and share ideas. I think alot of people in the Yamaha crowd are the same.

not a jumping pic like above but i thought i'd share some pics that i'm so glad my mom caught on her cell phone. 2 seasons of clutching trial and error and a good track hooking up on the snow i got my sled to do this on a minor incline going from a crawl to stabbing the throttle and being able to drag the bumper for sometimes up to 40ft. this shows what the 4 strokes are capable when the torque is put the ground and how much dang fun they are, out of the 60 other sleds at the poker rally others were having a hard time doing this even with the help of the drift or lip

btw the suspension had limter straps sucked in and suspension set stiff for mountain riding, so i wasn;t cheating either. just thought i;d share wish i had a video.

Sheesh, you guys are no fun.

I get on here and try to stir the pot a bit, and you all crumble...........

BTW: I think Yamaha is a fantastic sled.

Nice pics!

Speaking of testicles, when do you take delivery on the 1100T Jeff?

Schmurs:

I have been told by my Arctic Cat Engineering friend that the 4-stroke mountain stuff will be produced near or last in the production run. He thinks it will be late October before we see these sleds hit the dealerships.........

I kind of, sort of, supposedly know the guy who is supposed to get production unit #1. We'll see if he's blowing smoke or not.

Your location says "Twin Cities". Would that be Mpls/St. Paul?

Nice video, lots of jumps and falls!! :thumb:

It does however really show the effect of the "heavy a$$ syndrome" of the Yamaha's in general though, pretty consistently. :face-icon-small-sho

you know it all comes down to preference, but some facts can't be ignored:

1) yamahas are the single most dependably moddable sleds out there. if you're going to drop several thousand dollars into your sled, you want to put it into something that's going to last.

2) anybody can drive around on a sled that weighs 150lbs less than a yamaha and look good doing it. you other brand guys try switching for a day and you'll see how sore your shoulders are at the end of a good day of powder bashing. the way i see it my nytro is like a winter membership to gold's gym ...lol

Whatever you ride, it doesn't matter as long as you have fun, i'm reminded of the big girlfriend vs. skinny girlfriend analogy. they say big girls need lovin too, i guess i'm into big girls hahaha

Yamaha's can fly........Blaze flipped a couple for years.

Chris Brown rode and dropped his MCX Nytro a couple weekends before his accident aboard his Cat. Plans on being aboard it next year.

And of course MacGregor absolutely airing out his Apex a couple years ago.

I ride my Yamaha cause its got 14k boosted hard core miles in the BC Backcountry, it will climb, fly, slay pow and get me home each and every time......I love it.

Safe sledding
