What If Polaris ???

Just starting something, what if Polaris or maybe other manufacturers offered a turbo for there 800cc 2 strokes would you buy one. And what price would be a fair one. Would $1,500.00 over the cost of a new machine be in the ball park or maybe $2,500.00. There are a lot of people buying aftermarket turbos and paying big bucks and if manufacturers offered it stock from the factory it would be a major coup. I have a pro and I really don't need anymore power but the young kids love the turbos. Bragging rights on who can climb that impossible chute gets the younger riders a big adrenaline rush. Whoa there cowboy, let's just let them try to make the motors they have now more dependable.

People had this convo in the "2014 rumors" thread. Look it up and read through it.

I believe they would sell a good amount. You made a good point, the aftermarket is selling quite a few. $1500 to $2500 would be a deal. As far as the aftermarket, we do not hear of them all being a hand grenade. But, we will probably see a 4stroke before the turbo 2stroke. Now if that lightweight 4stroke rumor would be true?:face-icon-small-coo

This wont happen. There was a ton of talk about cat doing this a couple years ago and they actually had a motor that could take it. Then when the proclimb came out the truth was revealed. The only turbo option that is viable for manufacturers is on a 4 stroke. Way too many variables on a 2 stroke for a manufacturer to offer that option and still include a warranty, meet regulations, etc. Just keep planning on dealing with aftermarkets if you want a turbo 2 stroke. As for me I can take my stocker anywhere I want to go and usually have more fun doing it.

I would much rather deal with a smaller company... someone that has direct tech service available and has had years of experience developing the kit.

if kits are $4500 from the aftermarket an OEM kit is going to be $10k they would never sell enough to justify the r&d for every 1 turbo sled out there, there is probably 1000 non turbo
