what if I remove carbides

I may put all the extra sets I have in the next concrete pour I do. ?
That's what i call perfect. Seemed stupid to throw all those brand new polaris skags away but they just clutter things up and i was never going to use them. I hate junk laying around. Probably even threw away a couple new sets of doo carbides.

Hmm, maybe I'll buy some hard facing alloy rods for my arc welder, knock the carbides out of my skags and make my own hard bars. Couldn't be that hard to do ....

Way easier to heat it up until the carbide falls off.

Then run a weld bead down it so you can steer for half a season again ?

Grinding carbide is not fun.
FWIW, My wife is on a 2018 Axys with carbides, I am on a 2022 Matryx with hard bars and she finds mine more stable on the trails. So I'm not sure the comment about only steering for 1/2 a season is accurate. My hard bars have about 700 miles on them with no noticeable wear. I am taking her carbides off - wonder if she'll notice?

Matryx is more front weight biased. ?

Remove wear bar from ski!
I used to just take a mig welder and go right over the top of the carbide.
Standard .030 wire.

U can watch ur grinder wheel get small fast. Lol
Standard wheel will barely scratch carbide.

Ha ha thanks I wasn’t being serious.

And if you are concerned about the weight savings go over to Alternative Impact's website and get titanium ones! ;) You get 2 lbs of savings instead of just 1 !
I ran those for a bit, they wear down quick. Loved the weight savings. But everytime there is a open spot of pavement or rock they wear fast, just really have to watch it in marginal snow.

Since they are expensive that is good to know. I'm curious, lots of people say removing unsprung weight (i.e. weight from the skis) is very noticeable. Did you find that to be true?

If the “wear bars” wear down quickly it’s a double weight loss benefit. ??‍♂️

I have noticed way more handling change in the difference in steering effort if you change from oem style ball joints to “tie rod end”.

Stiffer steering is a huge handling downgrade.

I cant say i noticed from just the ski hardware being Titanium. I did notice when i put on the front and rear suspensions, huge weight savings.
