what holds you back? money or ballzz

Sledding is supposed to be fun. Saw a video this last week where a guy climbed a chute, and lost his $20k sled sending it off a 100 ft cliff. All this for a 2 minute video clip. His buddy took a 100' cliff drop and ended up strapped into a helicopter and several days in the hospital.

Year after year, I get home from a great ride. My Wife asks how was it, and I enthusiatically get to tell her about it as she listens to every word that I say. I'm usually bouncing off the wall when I get home from a good ride. Have some dinner, take a hottub, a couple beers, and off to bed.

I get more joy out of impressing my better half, than 10 guys at the bottom of the hill.

FEAR..noboby has mentioned FEAR!

Fear of Breaking your machine.

Fear of Breaking yourself.

Fear of breaking the bank.

but I thinik what holds most back is fear of failure.

It's the ability to overcome those fears that makes life worth living. I would rather fail trying then having never tried at all. :beer;

I can't afford to fix a big crash, and I can not afford to be out of work with an injury. I can not work with a broken finger let alone a broken arm or leg. They would send me home with a severe limp. Another one that fries me is those that will look at a line and try do decide wether or not to hit it, then say, "oh h3ll, that's why it's insured" and then pull the rope, hit it, lose it, and laugh as it rolls and smashes all the way to the bottom. Sorry guys, but insurance should not cover STUPID in my mind. If there is a safe "out" I will hit some pretty narly lines. I will hit some pretty big air if the snow is right. Just can't afford to be breaking the sled or the rider.

the way I see it is if you wreck you still look like a Bad A$$:D and if you land it you even look more like a Bad A$$.:D But there is that point in the season if you wreck your done till next year. and its getting that time of year:mad:

Don't like to trash my $h!t
No one's payin me to get hurt
Sleddings fun but I don't feel like dying

Lots of fun to be had without getting carried away....I'm not out to impress anyone

Sums it up perfect for me.:cool: I always think too......if I wreck bad trying this; my whole group's day is over. Cause now we have to get my sled/and or me, out of here somehow.:(

I'm going with the "puss" thing. There is a lot of things I would like to try but my skills are not that advanced and I'm turning 47 tomorrow. I don't heal very fast these days. Live to ride another day because everyday you get to ride is a really great day.

I got ballz

I got a bad *** sled

Im thinking its the 121" track? :D:beer;

Makin it home to the family safely has held me back alot this season. Especially with all the avy's and deaths.................

Before it was my sleds holding me back now that I ride a t nytro at 17 psi I 'd have to say its balls ,for awhile anyway!!!!

THE OLDER YOU GET the more you realize that nobody really cares and alot of the times don't even get to see how cool something was when you did it!? so as long as you can still impress yourself and still get that Adrenaline rush that we all need that's all that matter's (STUPID AGE THING!!!) JUST ENJOY EVERY MINUTE YOUR THERE AND COME HOME ALIVE!!!

I used to have a motto, "sled parts are expensive body parts heal for free"
.... Then got close to 50 years old and I have changed my tune

" Body parts never really heal at least I can replace sled parts"

Most of the time for me, it's "How long will it take me to fix ____ if I break it?" If it'd take more than a week, that means I won't be riding the next weekend.... which means i'll pass for now.

X2 and the wife and three kids at home that I have to provide for if I mess myself up

for the most part I would have to say money. although still recovering from a near fatal motorcycle accident has slowed me down a bit. next year I may get a little more wilder once im fully recovered but since im getting older my body just doesnt seem to recover as quickly as it did when i was 18.

yep

I have to make it home in one peice to my two year olds "daddy dance". My riding style changed alot when he came along. I do miss garage time with the boys fixing broken parts though.
