What do they wiegh?

I have been looking but haven't seen any discussion of what these bikes end up wieghing. Seems like a KX450 is a good choice and where I live an LT kit is probably a good idea. I read of a 250 lb Husaberg 570 as a starting point too. So what does the LT kit wiegh? Anybody wieghed the whole bike kitted up?

Pretty sure you could come in under 300 easy with a 2 stroke bike.

Got it in my head the kits are 50 or 60 pounds, and then you loose weight from the bike without wheels, swingarm, and shock.

KX450 fully fueled with an LT should be right around 310lbs.... add 21lbs for the 3gal gas tank on back if you run with that (which you should).

I looked, I really did. The only quote I found was the claim they are 200 lbs lighter than a sled. That seemed like a lot in an era of 417lb sleds. Looks like it is accurate enough.

I have a friend threatening to buy a kit for his KTM instead of buying a sled. I want to see how it works, and I don't want to be the only one around with a bike, so hopefully he will bring it out next season and let me have a go.

We have a dealer that was kind enough to weigh any sled brought in for giggles loaded ready to ride . Even though the Pro's are the lighter of the sleds the 155s' all weighed over 500 pounds even the 600s' .

I'm more than curious to see what the bikes actually weigh fully loaded . Here's a heavy weight , its a 151-2.25 , 800 RkTech drop in , rage cages Jaws pipe with a 8.5 gallon tank , reinforcement braces , TRA & Team clutch , bars are heated with the coolant , IMS pegs , dual LED head lights , Icon tank bag fully loaded ready to ride .

That is why the hawk never made sense to me, way to close in wieght to a sled for me. Typically I see the rtr Pro's come in around 470-480, lots of pictures of that on the site. If the bike is 330 with enough gas to ride all day, that is a 150 lbs, pretty substantial.

I suspect the bike is a whole new kind of riding compared to the sled. I will have to reconcile the lack of power vs the new places it can go. I want to see how it keeps up in a group of sleds, where I like to ride.

Both is probably the answer. I have an old M7 that can go and be replaced by a bike. That might be the best answer, I need a street legal dirt bike for summers anyway.

They should be close in weight. They have all the stuff a sled does minus a ski. Ride a hawk. It will make sense
