What did you learn this sledding year?

Just wondering what people improved on this year? Any new skills? I learned to cut full cirlce and side hill for miles on end lol, oh also learned how to get stuck lol:face-icon-small-fro.

I learned now to not ride and work on my sled.. also MUCH more comfortable sidehilling straight across, and even somewhat down.. makes life nice in the woods.

also learned how to ride on boost.. its a whole new world.

if it looks like a stump, its a stump!

Aiaiaiai....

I learned how to do a 180' on top of a hill that where steeper than I anticipated..
And I found out that the WE shocks on my RMK Dragon sucks...so now I got new Ohlins:face-icon-small-hap

And if it looks like a rock, it's probably a rock!! :face-icon-small-sho

And rocks don't mix with the cheap *$$ sub-frames on the 08 Nytros.

And when you have to order a replacement from Japan, mid-season, I learned that the season is over. :hurt:

I learned that my sled is very powerful, still kind of in awe of it. Kind of like a god. :face-icon-small-sho If my sled is broken down, it will make it snow. It happened several times this year. The day after it broke down it would start snowing. You all have my sled to thank for the wonderful late season riding this year....

I learned that Bohica, Tuddizle and Ski-Breeze are pretty good riders. Hope their heads don't swell now!

Everything

This was my first season owning a sled, I've ridden a few miles flatland in MN, but first time mountain sledding. I learned alot, much of it thanks to all the knowledgeable people on this site. Also watched friends do stupid moves and learned not to do that. Like early season; good way to break parts (A-arm, mounts, and shocks to be specific) on rocks. Other people showed me their technques for digging out, how to counter steer, etc. By May I felt comfortable, in October it was very difficult. I would say I learned alot about working on sleds, but that was more last summer when I was building it.

Learned that 5 162" sleds will fit in a 4 place trailer but someone is going to lose some paint or plastic. Learned that Klim gear is actually better then the crap you can buy at Big bear or Scheels for keeping you dry.

Can you give me a heads up the next time your sled breaks down?

We need to find someone who lives near this guy to make sure his sled is broken down EARLY in the season, and then needs regular repairs all season long. :face-icon-small-hap

I learned to never sell the extra sled no matter how bad things get. This season for a spare I have a boosted Apex...:face-icon-small-hap

I learned that you can pull a lot of a 1000cc two stroke, but that my fat *** needs a turbo four stoke.... So I learned my lesson and just bought one, now I am looking at a new sled I cant ride:face-icon-small-hap

Jumping a Mountain Max = hurt back and hard landings

Jumping an IQR = Confidence to hit/drop anything

I mostly just got totally comfortable on my sled. Made it a part of me when in the trees. I used to not be comfortable taking my sled into really sketchy treed hills, now that's where I spend my entire day. Pretty much just worked on my riding skills all around.
