What are you paying for insurance on AC?

Hey guys, I just bought an 2010 M8. The lowest insurance rate quote was around $370. Is this a good deal? When I bought my 07 Rev 800 (it was brand new) the rate was $250. Seems like a lot of money for insuring a sled. I have never made any claims.

Best quote i could get was from state farm still more than i want to pay though....

Snowmobile:
Annual Policy
Liability Limits 50/100/50: $ 18.60
UUI Limits 50/100/50: $ 23.70
Medical Payments $5,000: $ 24.00
Physical Damage Coverage: $ 256.00
Total Premium: $ 322.30/annually
$ 26.86/monthly

The replacement cost is a big part of the quote, but you also need to make sure your limits are adjusted according to your assets. 50/100/50 are low limits, you want to protect all the items you own in case of a lawsuit. You can burn through 100K in an accident really quickly.

yeah a lot of you guys are really cheap. mine is around $600 a year for replacement value on my 800 mod. And thats with a multi policy discount.:(

Never really thought about having insurance on my sleds. Of course I have medical, but wouldn't it just be a great excuse to get something bigger, better and faster?

With all the Yahoo's we have on the trails in the Midwest I would not ride without it. I spend a lot of time off trail, but I also ride the trails a lot to get to our spots.

Maybe out west it would be less of a concern on hitting another rider, but the possibility of really messing up a sled? I dunno, all I know is that I was protecting myself with a lot of the same coverage I had in college. After I got married I was more concerned if this was enough, so I found a very good agent that works with the owner of our company, and she took the time to look over everything and made suggestions on things to change. I am REALLY glad I did this!

I've had two sleds totalled and neither was a real bad wreck. In both instances I got the value of the sled and then bought the sled back at the salvage price of around 3-400 dollars. One of the sleds I was able to get fixed up and my wife still rides it.
I'll never ride without insurance again... It has saved me a few thousand already. I use Liberty Mutual and they have been really pleasant to deal with (knock on wood).

I pay about $150 for the 03 Cat 700 and $125 for the 07 Doo 600.
