Just for reference, I use a pair of Cabela's 1200 gram thinsulate hunting boots that are sealed up through the laces, and they work great. They are my cold weather hunting boots and figured I could double them up as sledding boots too. They work awesome and they are not big and bulky at all. They are waterproof, but I threw on an extra layer of waterproofing too. For sox, I wear a pair of moisture wicking wool/polypro sox, which helps with any type of sweating. This is a great combo for the entire season except for spring, when it will be too warm of a setup. I agree though, cold/ wet feet is the worst. Good luck.
