We have always stayed at the goldenwest motel with kurt and shel. They have a heated garage if you have troubles with sled you can go in there and work on your sled. You can ride out from anywhere in town just stay off the state highways, ( the only plowed roads in town). Prolly 20-30 minutes to the hills depending on which direction you go.

Since the creek crossing is messed up has anyone broke out red canyon going up into the cabin yet?

Kurt and Shel At Golden West or Pine Shadows with Chad or Cabins West Lodging for larger groups with me are the three places that WILL take care of your groups. 406-579-0406 Shop and tools, :beer; and knowledge of area at any choice you pick.

Taylor and Bill were out yesterday with a couple of crews. Taylor reported lots of sledders out there tearing up the powder that is left from the Christmas Eve storm, but plenty to find off the beaten path. Bill, unfortunately was stuck to the trail most of the day as his group ran out of talent after the first part of the day but still managed to find some great play areas off the trail system. Not much for pictures except this one from Taylor in Upper Tepee! Sounds like over all still some great riding to be had, just need to know how get to it. Time for the "Eraser" storm to bring some fresh snow and erase tracks.

Snow please...

Time for the "Eraser" storm to bring some fresh snow and erase tracks.

You got that right. Crazy amount of tracks yesterday in Taylor Fork, I can't imagine how bad it is closer to West. Did everyone decide to ride in SW MT this time of year? I can't remember ever seeing so many people out and about.

were here in west and i rode to lions head ,two top and canyon and it is rode hard you really need to find the areas where nobody wants to go to find good snow.

Yeah, was in there today, good grief!!! Still found lots of fresh though...

Wish people would quit hitting the hillside right by the parking lot and the first hill along the trail!! Gonna spell bad things for us...

Wos coming out were deep!!! Knee is telling me about it!!!

secret spots

Everyone always finds their own secret spots, but I am always hesitant to go into them on days where there is huge amounts of sledders around. I think people just naturally follow other tracks and then your honey holes are found out. Most of the spots I have found have been completely on accident. Hopefully the 7-10 day outlook is completely wrong and we get some snow to cover up all the ruts and tracks. The beaver slide looked like a 6 year olds etch a sketch the other day...

I guess I've reached my maximum on the posting for this thread... Need to pay to post conditions and help folks out at this point...HMMM, I guess a new thread is in order? Well, for those that can read this post. Tracked up except for technical tree lines and off the beaten (know where you are going) path. Need some fresh!
