Welcome to......THE DEEPNESS

another goodie...you need to check out the LIC goggles with the POV cam. Run your contour or go pro in back at the rider mode and tie in with true POV of these goggles and it's really really fun! All at the same time picture in picture showing both views! It's so cool. For that matter you can set up a tripod setup as well and get all three perspectives for a complete "experience" on the same event. The 720's are cheap and actually take really good video...not far behind my 1080 GPS Contour! Company has a 1080 coming that would be more for production types including the cost. You do some really cool stuff and I think these would be a big plus to your fun. You are the ideal candidate for these!

I'll have to look into it. Although I love my Aviators. It seems hard enough to get the goggle part right...or make a decent functional camera. Let alone combine them into one.

So you have used these? Do you have any video from them?

Yea I've been using the heck out of them testing for sled market use. Being completely new to video use there is a learning curve. 42 gb's on just one! I've got hours and hours of footage. Getting it into a viable see-able aspect that doesn't devaluate the product or isn't boring to watch is the next goal! We have not been blessed with epic filming conditions...had some killer deep snow days but that sweet combo of conditions and light has eluded us for the past couple weeks since I got started. I'll try to put up some very amaturish clips cut out tomorrow so you can get a feel for the quality. We already had a firmware update and I felt like it helped.

We showed it in very rough form at a post ride dinner in a bar on the big screen and people were darn impressed. Video right off the goggle with zero editing just replay direct to the tv. Impressed enough that three jumped up and bought test models right then! I saw reports on BCR from a couple of testers and they seem happy. Their results mesh with my findings so far.

Filmed Burandt with a set and got a nice little run through the trees. I also have some contour stuff with it facing back at the rider with them on...I'll try to get that up so you can see them working kind of while you go so to speak.

As far as a goggle is concerned I don't think that these would yet totally replace my riding peeps. But that said I have worn nothing but these for the past 10 rides in all conditions. They fit small and have an arched face more so then say scott 89xi which is my standard. I'm already used to them but have heard the griping right off about fitment. You have to just try them and get used to them just like anything. I will say the lenses are great and the use as goggles has been fine. We've been in some pretty tough stuff these past few rides with deep wet snow and bad light...normally associated with lots of being stuck and getting your goggles fogged with sweat and snow. Mine have been pretty good...when you factor getting to film from them pretty easily worth the hassle of getting used to another type of goggle! Super easy to function with a simple two button one on off one start the video stop the video (or still shot mode). I can even do it with my riding gloves in place now.

I think you will be very impressed with the overall aspect once you've used them and gotten comfy with the system and fitment of the goggles. I have been. Just the saved hassle of dragging out the contour or gopros and getting them all set up for filming is a hugie for me. I caught my buddy tipping over in a creek and going for a cold swim that was flat out hilarious. That alone was worth the cost! One ten second clip...bam paid for in entertainment! I was the only one who saw it happen out of 15 riders...accept we had it on the goggles so everyone got the benefits once we made it home! super funny

Scott thanks a bunch! Thank you as well to Kim for testing them out!

That's a pretty darn good example of it's use in deep snow and varying light conditions. That is not with the firmware update either so there should be additional quality in the future on Kim's goggles. AWESOME! I think he feels like he got his couple hundred dollars worth!

Ohhhh he has been inviting me down there to ride....WOW I have got to go!

PM me if you guys want a pro test deal from LIC..I have some sets left dedicated to the program for snowmobiles.

Just wait til you see our video of a new $50,000 hot rod low water jet boat going places they should not at super sonic speeds! Gonna be incredible...five seats and we will have goggles on at least two crazies. (I'm volunteering for shore video duty...it's scary)

Nice to see a vid from Kim.....:face-icon-small-coo

This is the 2nd vid I have seen of someone using these goggles.
I have to agree with diz. Although the field of view is pretty decent
the picture quality is far lacking the contour or Go Pro.(I watched the 720)
I really like the idea of the goggles, it feels like a true pov.
It's just lacking in what I feel is the most important part, picture quality.
Due to the quality of the vid I can't imagine any of the pro vid makers using it in their films.
But being this is the first generation of the goggle it will be sweet to
see where they go with it and the quality of future models.

Here is a quickie we just threw together .....from last Tues in Idaho with Burandt....obviously just a fun little test experiment. If you look at the video you can see the firmware update is an improvement already. Cool company always working on improvement. Anytime there is an update it's free!

You guys should be aware that these are shot in 720 for a couple hundred dollars including the goggles and the 1080's are on way which will be more in line for production types when you are considering a comparison. Once again this is for the recreational $250 user. The 1080s are $400...other super cool stuff coming down the road that will be incredible. These guys have won all kinds of tech awards for their designs. MOre coming.....

One more thing on the goggles themselves. I've had the chance to try a lot of different goggles over the years and these work very well. They come with a dark polarized lens installed and a orange tint with a soft case as a backup. The last three times I rode it was in full sun to nasty flat light totally snowing conditions and the lens goggle combination was great, didn't even need to change the lens to the orange one in flat light.
