How is an 800 sitting at 35 pounds heavier than a 700? That elec start isn't a 35 pound diff.

Ok with seeing that why would somebody not buy a yamaha if the weights are the same and you can have a more reliable and more horse power sled.

My M8 SP 162 is lighter full wet ready to ride than the Nytro is dry. So about 60lbs wet. I was in the same situation as you only 1 month ago. I was comparing D8 163, M8 SP 162 and the Nytro with a SC. The Nytro with the SC was going to be around 4k more and still needed 2500-3k in suspension mods. Between the D8 and M8 it really came down to dealer I am sure I would have been happy either way. Got a little better deal on the M and have known the people at the dealership for years and know that I will always be taken care of. It meant a lot to me to know if I had a problem it would be handle now not when they get to it.

hey thank you very much my dealer is a block away and is a family friend sells yamaha and polaris so your saying a polaris in my situation would be the way to go over a yamaha.

That's because the 2 strokes fully loaded with fuel, coolant, oil, a lunch and 1/2 a rider weigh the same as a Yami that is bone dry.

:)

ok so you all are leaning towards the two stroke has anyone had good luck with the iqr chassis do they work are the difficult to ride open to all your insights.

I'm thinking of getting a bigger battery for my Nytro. It's so light at the front end I have a tough time keeping it down on the snow :D

Your hearing lots of myths and rumors and less than personal experience..."Nytros cant hang int eh trees" Nytros....you fillin blank"

fact is the weight is within 40-70 lbs. without doing weight savings...if you spend the coin to lighten them, you can shave nearly 100lbs.

I have all measured and validated...My sled as it sits below Is hitting all the magical numbers...

Weight- Sub 500lbs. dry
Power- 200+ HP
Cost- as it sits under $17K

So, the real question, if you buy a 2Smoker ($9-11K), and lightweight it ($2k), and get it to 200HP ($5k), you will have a slightly lighter sled, at the same HP... No where near the lifespan, and will be within roughly the same cost...

Here is my sled...(but I am just a poser, and prefer to stay in parking lots :) )

No pics but I have over 85lbs taken off mine and it is one fun ride.
Not much different handling than stock just a whole lot easier to ride.
So 320 hp 535lbs ready to ride That's full of fuel 10.5 gallons with 3 gals on back.

I have an 07 D7 155" (floats/slp pipe/thing) and a 08 Nytro MTX (floats/challenger) and they handle very similar. I prefer the D7 in deep snow as it seems to climb better (and hard to get stuck), but still love how easy the Nytro is to ride. Just needs more horse, better skid and it would be my favorite.
