Weight Lifting supplements?

It also depends on his level of training. Again it varies from state to state but there are generally 2-3 levels of EMT.

Emt-Basic
EMT-intermediate
EMT-Paramedic

Many states are eliminating the intermediate and just requiring more from the basic level. Generally a Paramedic has a lot of drugs at his/her disposal. EMT-B and I, not as much.

Weight lifting coaches and wrestling coaches at school suggest that I start to take some creatine to help bulk up. What do you suggest that is safe and accually works? Also, where did you get it from and how good are the results? Thanks for any info.

I took Creatine for football. I don't think it helps much and once you start, you can't just stop, it harms your body, you have to ween yourself off of it by using less and less each day! Creatine is just bad stuff man! Try FSR energy, it is healthy for you and gives you more stamina, I use it now and it really works well!

True im not arguing my dads level of experirnce hes been doing it for 24 years were do you think he would be after 24 years passed up the tests and no raises hes a jew come on he was actually the first one in the dept to get his emtI in the early 80s. And the highest ranking captain worked in the ER also for many years. This poor kid here needs some help on GOOD suggestions in life not short cuts IMO

24 years gives him a lot of street experience. You usually have to re-certify every so many years and with that re-certification you need x-amount of hours of continuing education, or classes you take. Most departments will have some sort of training to go over scenarios, new procedures, etc.

I highly suggest not doing any type of muscle building, energy boosting, or enhancements. They do nothing buy damage your body. If you want to gain muscle work out naturally. You school SHOULD have a weight facility. I know you can take weight training as a hour long class..... Right now I do have a personal trainer that I meet with 2 or 3 times a month to discuss my diet and work out habits.

I'll go over my diet and plans. I go one week upper one lower. Then usually cardio and then a week devoted to perfecting my form for football etc.

Setting goals is also another important thing. I know I wanted to loose body fat while gaining muscle. So after taking my measurement and dropping 20 Lbs and 2% body fat I'm almost at my goal. Though I did loose alot of weight I'm back to lifting alot more.

Just eat right, don't put things in your body that shouldn't, and work. HARD. It's all self motivation.

Sweet. This is getting to be like an argument about vaccines. I guess like all things, in the end it is up to each individual what you want to put into your own 'temple.' You get one shot, do with it what you will.

Xrated-no chip. I gladly admit there are many things I want nothing to do with. Things like urology. Nothing to prove to anyone on this site either. If you ever meet me in the hills I carry a big medical kit for use on anyone that needs it. Including nitro for the older generation. I just felt that with the amount of personal interest I held in this topic at one point in my own athletic career, I wasn't completely unqualified to discuss it. Peace?

Onward to useful discussions of incoming snow..........:face-icon-small-ton

It is no skin off my back (so long as you don't come to where I work), I'm just trying to help you be a better doctor, assuming you make it through med school and residency.

And for the record, you could say I've spent some time in a Level 1 center a time or two. Look at my location and piece it together.

Minten why would you workout one week upper then the next week lower. Makes zero sense to me, I have been working out for about 5 years pretty hard now most go with an upper/lower split or a full body routing working out a different body part each day without exhausting 2 muscle parts such as arms one day back the next or arms then chest where you would be exhausting the triceps back to back days.

ie don't do bench press and pullups in the same day. Match things up with complimentary muscles...

Do chest and tri's on one day.
And then your back and bi's on the other day.
Legs and shoulders on the 3rd day.
Day 4 is core exercises.

Don't have an "abs" day. Do abs and calves as part of your warm up. They always get overlooked....do them a couple times a week.

No kidding.

Every trainer that I've ever consulted with, worked with, or had come speak to my kids...more or less says the same thing as what I put above.

I've worked with University strength coaches, college trainers, long time HS coaches, Physical therapists...

Everyone...the general philosophy is what I've put above.

NO does nothing but dilate your blood vessels giving you a false sense of gains by prolonging your pump....

it dilates your blood vessels, helping your body push nutrients through your veins to different areas of the body. you are able to throw up more reps, and more weight while you're at the gym. thus pushing your muscles just a little bit further. thus tearing your muscles just a little bit further, thus building just a little bit more muscle.

but like i said, you should be careful which one you use. look at the ingredients.

N.O. explode is a supliment i would stay away from. it has a bunch of helpless fillers.

its very important to work out your legs. after you work out, when your body is repairing the muscles, it releases a natural growth hormone. the more you work out, the more it gets released. your legs have the most amount of muscle. if you work out your legs, it will increase that amount of natural growth hormone, and since the hormone is carried through the bloodstream, it carries the hormone to other parts of your body, and your other muscles grow even more. even for the muscles in the upper body that you haven't worked out.

the more natural your diet, the better nutrients you will be able to put into your body. if you choose to use a safe nitric oxide supplement, mixed with a very natural diet, and plenty of leg workouts, you are going to love the results. just push hard, but dont over do yourself. your body does most of its growing when its asleep so get plenty of rest.

To work just upper one week and lower the next does not make sense. You shouldn't isolate a group too much in one week. What made me stronger than anything was doing m workout almost primarily with dumb bells. At least for the upper. Dumb bells require so much more strength than a straight bar. The balance alone is what makes it tough. I've had a couple times where they practically fell on my face, LOL.

Really? A personal trainer? Heck I can't even afford to buy my own snowmobile.
Anyways, yes my highschool has a weight lifting facility, very nice one in fact. One of the nicest in the state. Talked to the football coach and my polevault/track coach and they just said lift and lift and lift. They also recommended P90X if I'm truely serious about losing body fat and gaining muscle. Completed a few days and so far enjoying it. Might possibly end up buying it and trying it out.

Stay away from it. You don't need it.

When you eat the pizza, eat the box too. You wanna bulk up, eat more.

Supplements are all gimmicks, and at you are you do NOT_ need them. If your coaches are telling you that they're idiots who don't give a damn about you or your future and just want to make themselves look good at your expense.

You wanna bulk up? Eat more an lift harder, its that simple.

You get into supplements now you're setting a VERY BAD precident for yourself for the future, I don't care if they're "legal" or "over the counter" or what.

Between the ages of 16-22 or so your body produces so much testosterone natrually if you take advantage of that with a proper diet and strength training regime you're gonna be bench pressing 4 plates before you know it. Stay the F*CK AWAY from the supplements.

P90x is pretty intense. I tried some new diets at school too. I went one week with out lunch and lost about 20lbs. Both muscle and fat. Then I went and hit the gym hard everyday and gained back about 15 lbs. Checked my body fat and dropped down to about 13% from 15%. Ate a lot of peanut butter and drank a lot of water. Just got to see what works for you. Running 3 or 4 miles a day is a good start.

Minten Dude your 15 u don't know jack chit about anything

just Shut the hell Up! your 15 and have a personal trainer, you make me want to puke , I've spent 20 years in the gym, you can't go from 2% bodyfat to 15% body by skipping lunch for a week and eating peanut butter, why don't U shut the hell up nobody wants to hear a single word u have to say, you are a spoiled rotten little rich kid that doesn't know the value of a dollar earned. I agree with most of that statement, just a note. I hadn't check my body fat for a while. Just a note. That I probably should have mentioned. and my Personal trainer is also my karate instructor....

lol damn av8er.. way to make a kid cry.... and minten, if u are tryin to gain size running 3 to 4 miles a day is not the way to go. as far as bulking and eating and lifting, it's all fine and dandy, but stay away from a bunch of pizza and other processed foods. the more naturally solid ur diet, the better ur results as far as solid strength and body health goes. the body is a temple. if u feed it a bunch of crap and lift, ur body won't have the nutrients it's looking for, and u won't have the energy for a truly awesome workout. don't overdo itself either

I agree though. I don't value money like I should. I want to be more independent so I can learn though.

Back to diet.
JMHO. Lift, run, diet, and sleep. That's what has helped me get into shape.
