Weighed the SLP pipe today

Just using a bathroom scale I just weighed the can. 7.2lbs just for the can, I didn't weigh the pipe as I wasn't sure how accurate the weight would be or what factory pipe weighs.

Another 3.5lbs can be saved with Diamond S, which I will be trying if it matches up just not sure if performance will be as good? Time will tell as we have a bunch so stock Axys sleds to compare against.

Pipe and can look great! Nice job SLP and thanks to Go Big Parts for the quick turnaround!

good news your sled will be a lot lighter without the warranty.... welcome to the poo side of things.:face-icon-small-win

Thanks.

I know in the past when talking to SLP their silencer they sell for a stock pipe is a different silencer than they sell with their pipe set. This is because the pipe set comes with a silencer tuned for their performance pipe. I would for sure start out with the SLP Silencer.

In stock ready to ship.

Does this pipe and can combo indeed void the factory warranty??

Even if someone tells you no, I would be awful nervous taking my sled in for a motor job with an aftermarket pipe or can on it. It just can muddy the water even if you know that the failure is completely unrelated. You could pay more for such items to be supplied by your dealer just so they are equally responsible. (who knows they might even match prices) Have the conversation with them and then you will not have to lie when the problems arise. Sorry if this directs business away from anyone but you can also tell your dealer to buy from your preferred source.

yupp yupp. break the motor in stock and then put the pipe on. switch them up any time you take it in.

except the wet line in the exhaust port doesn't match the one in the Y pipe or pipe...and now the motor is doa. doubt they have ever seen that trick before.

And if they're a good dealer they don't even look..warranty money spends the same:face-icon-small-win

this is the best case but do as said above and talk with the dealer before! and sometimes its worth the cost to have them put it on...

A good dealer does something dishonest? Really? To you, it's one sled, to them it's their entire business. They get caught doing something stupid like that by their supplier and their whole livelihood goes down the drain.

Not gonna happen - at least not if they are smart about it.

When I read the warranty on my 2014, it clearly stated that performance mods voided the warranty. If the warranty is important to you, I'd be mighty careful about changes. And as someone suggested I'd be talking to the dealer about it - and I probably wouldn't trust the sales guy, I'd want to talk to the manager or owner.

Kudos for hacking this thread. Who said anything about warranty, this is a performance post but seems you had a hard time with figuring that out.

Why not start a warranty post since you're so concerned about it?

You really think the tech tearin your sled apart is gonna look for a " wet line"
the manager and owner aren't there turnin wrenches so I have no use for them.
Service manager maybe..but wait..his sled is "enhanced" as well. Warranty is something you buy to make the next owner feel good.
Standard warranty has so many grey areas you gotta have the tech involved he makes the call......or not.

And if the pipe is swapped, where's the "fault"

not concerned at all as i have slp full pipe sets and cans on all of may last 6 non turboed sleds and putting a full set on my 16 this week. their fit and finish is top notch and the support is awesome. just pointing out the cause and effect for some of the guys who bank on the warranty.

Most dealer know the attention to detail that SLP has had over the years with their performance products. It really comes down to your dealer and their knowledge with what really caused the issue that brought the sled in for warranty.

Thanks.

This was true in the past but for the new Axys sleds it appears to be the same can now.
