Washington fuel prices, how much can you take

I got cut off filling my truck at the Safeway the other day. At $75 and the pump just stopped. First time that ever happened. Felt like I got kicked out of the bar for pissing on the pool table or something.

It took $110 just last week to fill @ 3.59 a gallon...............i'm shaking my head thinking about seeing what it will be after fuel goes past $4.00 a gallon.

TomMTX................yes it bugs me also when the pump shuts off early before a full fill up. How many trucks out there can fill up for under $75 or even $100 now?

P.P.

My little jeep will soon pass $75 for a fill up of diesel. :(

I was told that the cut off only happens if you use your debit card as credit instead of putting your pin number in.

No, I've tried it both ways and it cuts off at $75 either way. I've had a few that cut off at $60. This really sucks

I just select "pay inside" if I know I'm putting in tons...like the RV. Usually I get enough in my truck to satify my need to not stop for a while....

thats what I did when I filled up the RV, pulled in on fumes and hit pay inside, $280 bucks later I went in for my 20 cents discount that they had for the grand reopening!!!!:):):)

oh ya fuel in northbend is up another 4 cents from last night $$$3.92

at least is snowing now!!!!!!

reminds me of a Seinfeld episode.

Kramer: The big companies just write it off....
Jerry: Do you even know what a write off is?
Kramer: .......No, do you?
Jerry: No, I don't.
Kramer: But they do it, they write it off........

Funny stuff.

GTG, you feelin better buddy? Kind of sounds like it.;)

it goes like this:

Kramer: The big companies just write it off....
Jerry: Do you even know what a write off is?
Kramer: .......No, do you?
Jerry: No, I don't.
Kramer: But they do, and they are the ones writing it off.......

I used to get really P.O.'ed at gas prices.....Then I think back to the early '70's when I had to cancel weekend m/c trips as all stations were closed. Since, I've been in 20 countries and was paying over $5/gal in England/Europe when the US was about $1.80..........Now, I just say: It is what it is....If gov't puts the squeeze on the fuel companies to lower profits, they just will lower production and there we sit.....If ya wanta dance, ya gotta pay the band!!!!!!!

That's about how I see it. If somehow we could all unite and not buy a single Chinese made product for say 2 weeks China might have a billion or so barrels to stick back in the comodities we could all buy chinese gas for real cheap.

mtbarr64, you and me must be 180 degree opposites. Every single post I have ever read of yours on many threads, I almost always have the exact opposite opinion. But hey, it is a free country to speak our minds. My opinion is no better than yours, and that goes for reverse order too. :D I bet that drive from Sammamish to Cle Elum is "carbon neutral" too. No wasted energy there.

That is called balance and I bet not as far apart as you think. I am just willing to think outside the rigid box I was raised in and question the absolute "known truths" of the current conservativism. The rigid box was a conservative Mennonite/Amish/Pennsylvania Dutch background tempered with Quaker influence. Many of those values still exist, but many of the other perceived values are false political weapons used by politicians to divide reasonable people. My father was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and Guadalcanal veteran from WWII and Free Mason. He did not vote for Republicans after Reagan in 1980.

I hope no one really judges anyone based on the views and behavior expressed on here, for that is truly not the sum of any person. Besides I never hold stupidity, rude behavior or political views (Note the OR there before you start to react) against anyone.

As a matter of fact I do drive an carbon neutral vehicle. Actually three, 2 - Volkswagen Passat TDI's (35 MPG) and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel (25 MPG). All using Biodiesel 100 percent. Been running it since 2002 so I have not supported OPEC since then.

Well other than for the sleds that is!! :) We do share our common interest in sledding and the preservation of the trails. We just differ on the approach and strategy to use to achieve that preservation.

By the way Diesel over here is now $3.97 a gallon. What is it at Safeway Cle Elum now?

Here we go!

Looks like the BigTruck will have to be parked and the scooter ridden!

Nothing beats a scooter that gets like 70mpg.

Funny how gasoline keeps going up and tonight I bought av gas and it's went up .05 from 4.69 to 4.74 that's the only increase this whole winter .:beer;

I have seen over $4 for diesel

So here is my fuel price story in Cle Elum from yesterday. Not whining, just stating some facts.

Drive into town about 8:45am to meet a friend at the Cottage Cafe for breakfast before our snowmobile ride in Taneum/Manastash area. Filled up at the Shell next door (just because it was close). The Shell was at $3.68 for Diesel. The 76 east of there was $3.99. Story's I believe was $3.83.

After breakfast when I came out 30 minutes later the Shell had just switched the sign for diesel to $4.12 ($4.11-9). Now there is a quick 14 cent increase. The 76 was still the same price.

Went riding, when I came back into town around 4:30pm, the 76 was now $4.10. Interesting.

I did not make it to the west end of town to see what the prices were there, but last weekend I filled up at Safeway for $3.70. I would guess it is up at least 10 to 15 cents this weekend, but I don't know.

moonman is the new gordys open yet

All I want to know is where the .9 cents goes.....if I buy exactly 1 gallon of diesel at 3.99*9 and give them $4 do I not get change? hmmm...
