This just keeps getting better. a Yamaha rep. is coming in to look at
my shocks sometime next week. I would assume it's Cody. In the mean
time I get to sit on a stick and wait... nice!!

This is an unacceptable format. Sled season is short, no need to make it shorter. Please keep us updated on how this turns out, as it will definitely bring to light just how customer oriented the Snow division of Yamaha really is.

I would have thought it would have been taken care of by now. I feel for you!

Come on, Jim! Grab the takeoffs from SledSkiing and get your a$$ up here! We have 109" on the pole at the Tower station! The snow is too fuggin good to pass up. If they haven't even touched Jeff's, grab it man!

I will even buy you a drink at the Dirty Circle when we're done!

Haha the dirty circle, damn work ya we have you signed up for this class on saturday crap. So close to not going but what do ya do. At least a rep is coming to take a look instead of just saying no jim, still crappy deal theres obvious rust at the break points so its been fatigued and broke under low speed trail riding messed up.

IMO the rust is a non issue, just raw steel at the end of the chromed rod. I believe it was caused by the overtightening of the bolts holding the shock bushings, not allowing it to rotate as the susp. traveled up and down. It's absurd that they are giving you a hard time about warranty, season is too short to put up with that B.S.

That's fuggin crazy it is taking this long. I would be on the phone daily with corporate Yamaha and complaining. Typically from what I have found it starts at the dealer level when they dont feel it should be a warranty issue. I have seen a dealer push many things thru that should not have been warranty and get it.

Huh?

Why in the world would the dealer want to say no on a warranty claim? Presumably yammerhammer just bought a new sled from them and the last thing they want is to annoy him by saying no on a warranty claim. Granted, there are some ethics involved and dealers shouldn't warranty items which are clearly not the OEM's fault, but if this is really just a case of the shock breaking, what would be their motivation for trying to get Yamaha to say no? YH - is there some indication that the dealer has not pursued getting things taken care of with Yamaha? We can guess that Yamaha decided to send somebody out to look at the shocks? Just out of curiousity, what was wrong with the clutching?

Not sure who is the hold up now. My guess is they "think" they have a reason
and that is why they are taking so long. It seems now that it don't matter
how many people seen it happen or even how it happened, they will believe
what they want to and that will probably be the cheapest way out for them.
We may find out soon enough!

... and big brother is watching SW, not sure yet witch brother it is but they are watching!

It's just acts lazy and they seem to have a better set-up for it. Time will tell.

Man thats just messed up, if ts xtreme trying to get you to buy parts through them forget about it. This is crazy-i could see if the a-arms were both destroyed as well but when nothing was done to cause this its not only crazy but unsafe. What if we were blazing back on the trail like we usaully due, your new nick name would be end-over.

Maybe you should look at jeffs sled jim, they were both set up by extreme and at the same time right? It could lead to why they failed-as overtightening has been suggested as a reason to cause failure.

Sled dudes are gooders

I have gotten a ton of PM's from folks wanting to help with running down parts, one even did offer his turbo sled to me for the weekend. You guy's have tons of back-up sleds. Thanks guy's and it was just a joke. lol

It's sweet to be loved huh, Yammer?!?!? Joke or not........it is nice to see the sledding fraternity step up when a brother is down!!

Best of luck!

I don't know about luved, the Doo guy's don't like me much. lol

May just have to go to Felkers and trade my Nytro for a XP if Yamaha
don't come through, change my name to Doohammer.

The dealer does not put the shocks on Kyle. The only thing they do
is put the ski's, handle bars and fluids on them. The shocks are installed
at the factory.

Submitting a warranty can take a while. Dealer should order you the replacement parts and if it's not warrantied than you pay for it. That way you do not miss out on riding. I can also understand why a dealer would not want to do this. The Xtreme guys are good peeps. They may need to follow everything by the book due to the size of their business. This is why we need a back up sled. We should all chip in and have a boosted Nytro on Standby :)

I'll start. I have $1

That was good of them.

Well just think if you could of rode this weekend you would have been part of the DJ/Paul collision and none of that would have been covered :)
