Just wanted to give my thanks to the great operation being offered at the Vagabond Ranch - (www.vrhuts.com) - and host/guide Jeremy. What you'll get...finding places of the beaten path, great times, a friendly ski pull, POW turns 20 days after a storm cycle, and technical as you can handle.

A Couple Shots for yesterday. Jeremy can add in the bon fire stories.

Great Ride

Was great riding with you Man Bear Pig! Looking forward to getting back out there with you when we get some more snow.

Bonfire Time

And for the bonfires.....Just your average Saturday night at Vagabond Ranch. Great people that just like to play in the snow having a beer together. And most often a lot of cute skier girls.......

So I take it the snow was unstable?? I would have had that hill tracked up.

Ralph, that hill was defiantly looking tasty and the turbo boys were wanting a piece of it but we chose wisely. Plenty of other less exposed pockets that allowed for some good vertical stick action. Really amazing how much terrain is right outside my back door that will challenge one's game all day long.

How was the base ?

color me sceptical..........

Not calling you a lier I just question our snowpack from what I have seen

Rp, snowpack sucks, no way to debate that. But it just makes the chase that much more rewarding. Remember that 4-5 feet we had at the end of December, well it is still there, hiding in those tough to find northern aspects, still surgery fresh after all these cold nights. Don't expect to take the trail there, but it is there and smiles were had all day.

Low snow

Agreed, we are no doubt way below where we should be for snowpack. And it sucks but there is some fun to be had out there. When it finally decides to snow again in Grand Lake give it a chance.

That hill slide to the dirt today. We choose really wisely.

That sucks. I was just about to call you and go track it. I'm so bored I'm willing to make a bad decision. ;) I just want to ride. We need snow bad. That being said Aztec wil lbe seeing me and my KTM Friday. Blah! Dirtbiking, Colorado and January just doesn't make sense.

Better than a stick in the eye! That pow looks good to me! Ear's still had powder stashes and the base is pretty good. Waiting for more snow before I hit it again.

That storm that came through last weekend didn't drop 50" but it did put down a foot up north. Its 1.5' deep along the tree edges in the shadows, where people haven't pounded it! lol We rode that stuff all day long and found some meadows practically un-touched for the year. In the sun it had about 5" of pow. The Christmas snow has settled into a great base. The very bottom is hoar, but the 3' above is dry and not to dense that you can't get down into it a few feet. Not go anywhere, by any means. I think we had two stucks...both downhill. We had a mixed group, so the tree runs were limited, except one 300' near vertical drop to a familiar valley floor. A wise sleddar once said..."Sure it's safe to drop, I know what's at the bottom!"

No, said he could've. The BD turbo would have pulled him over. That was first tracks on that spot, but the area was pounded below. Tons of good riding left. The tree snow is excellent but need 2' more in the trees. We went in and were pulling the skis a lot to get over logs. I got that picture Q. put it up tonight. going riding with Chris and Brandi. Moqui on here.

Just a little pimple, but nobody's laid down tracks yet. Usually go straight up it left of the rock. Great ride today, until I pulled something in my left shoulder. Second ride of the season and I'm already lame. lol Fun to ride with someone who can show me new areas though.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait!!! Somebody show you new areas???

That doesn't make sense. Don't you do the showing?
