This forum software does not allow them like the old Fusetalk did.

We used private threads to plan group rides and to share information with each other when we didn't feel like wading through 4 pages of nonsense answers.
If I understand it correctly, PT's are possible with this software - but it's more work for the admins because they have to set them up rather than users being able to start them.

It was a response to woodies question, though at the time his icon was a goat with bling in its teeth, but it has been changed since then.
now I just look like a goat lover, everyone knows I like sheep better.

This is about right. It's not that it is more work for us, it's just that it isn't the same functionality, at all, as fusetalk. A topic can be created and password protected. Then, the password would have to be given out to those that need it. Who gets to control that? On Fusetalk, the users could create a private topic and invite people.
On here, you would have to ask one of the mods to create it and then give the password to those that you want in it. How many requests for us to create a topic for this, that, or the other is going to be too many to manage?
You can PM multiple people (though I don't think it is that many at a time) and reply to all...that's *SORT OF* the same.
