There are always at least 3 sides to every story. Your side, her side and the truth is somewhere in between. Mods need to understand this.

Would we all be happy sledding the same hillclimb every weekend for years with no sign of moving to another? Or do we take a chance and go to some new grounds to see if the powder there might be better? Personally, I have lots of fun doing the same thing over and over, but there comes a time when we all want to try the new snow no matter how good our favorite powder hill has been.

Are you really trying this analogy to relate to the absolute garbage that's going on here?
I've had many good conversations with you prior to your name being emblazoned in RED and I believe you might not even be the same 94 Fordguy that I used to talk to unless of course you od'd on the kool aid.

Using your analogy...
Would I be satisfied playing on my same favorite hill or play area forever?
Dunno, Something made it my favorite so yeah, I might.

Would I accept being told that my favorite play area was being turned into a wilderness area and the only place I could ride from now on was a boring, over managed private area with heavy handed cops enforcing ridiculous rules and because of that nobody I used to ride with ther would ever be there because it sucked and they all gave up sledding and sold their equipment?
Hell no. I'd leave too.
But I'd attend all the meetings and spread the word to try to fight it first.

Does that work with your analogy?

Doesn't matter, Chris will delete this before you get a chance to read it anyway.

Drink up.

If I may ask, How is this all being turned into wilderness? Sure, some areas have been changed around and the trail into the good stuff is now being monitored, but isn't the experience in the here and now more what you make of it?

I've been watching FP very closely for the last couple weeks before asking to personally take it onto my list of responsibilities, and it seems to me as though most of the major problems are the ones that the members are causing for themselves.... Aside from the connection problems that we have been plagued with lately, what has forced the content to really change as drastically as it has? All the same sections are still here and there's more... There's been a feedback section added to the top of the forum where you can post every dis-satisfaction you ever had with the site.

The way I look at it is this; If you have always driven 75mph up the windy mountain pass to get to the snow park, and now you are being asked to obey the 60mph speed limit that has always been posted there (IE the rules thread that has for years been stickied in General snowmobiling) and then you assault the sheriff for giving you a ticket for continuing to break the rule, does that make it right?

I will say this is my own defense. I am very slow to hand out "tickets" around here for anything, I'm pretty easy going and thats the way I want it to be. Good example here, the Diesels suck thread: I asked for that thread to be locked b4 I became mod of this section because it was headed downhill fast.... First thing I did when I got here was to clean out the blatant insults and profanities in that thread and re-open it for posting... as I recall not a single post in that thread went "poof" just a little windex is all that was needed and it has been clean and fun since... A few of the replies had me literally LMAO... why would I over moderate something like that when all it needed was a word or 2 here or there cleaned up? I think you will find if you keep an eye in here in the time ahead that you would have to really try pretty hard to get me to drop the hammer on ya, that's not the way I approach things.

In my eyes as of right now its up to everyone what they want this section to be. This is after all Fouled Plug, the section of the forum that has for years been famous for its jokes, relaxation, and general good humor. Why can't we all put in a small effort to help get it back to how it was? All I am asking as the assigned mod of this section is that it be kept clean, keep the profanity, bashing and inappropriate pics out, but otherwise post to your hearts content, you'll get no trouble from me. Is that really that much to ask?
