My thoughts..................
Brock vs. Mir - I think Brock will knock him out in the 2nd round. The first round will be Mir looking to strike, Brock strike back then push him against the fence, take him down, control the ground and rough him up with short punches / elbows / knees. Rinse, Repeat, and Mir will GAS. He will get sloppy in the second and Brock will knock him out. I see it looking alot like Brocks fight with Randy.
You dont have to like Brock as a person, but you have to admire his insane work ethic and drive. He is a totally different level of fighter than the one that Mir LUCKILY subbed in Brock's first fight. He has improved much more than Mir has and wont make a rookie mistake again.
GSP vs. Alves - I dont like GSP as a person, but he has the most complete skill set of any fighter in the UFC. He has had some mental problems in his losses (Hughes I and Serra I) but has come back a much stronger fighter after both. Alves does not do well with wrestlers (see his loss to Fitch) and GSP is the best wrestler in the UFC right now. Alves does have a chance if he can keep it standing, but I think GSP is such a smart fighter now that he will just take Alves down and impose his will on him much like he did BJ.
Hendo vs. Bisping - I pray to the heavens that Hendo stomps an absolute mud hole in Bisping. Hendo is one of my all time favorite fighters and if Bisping tries his "technical striking to score points and win a decision" it will not work out for Bisping. Hendo will just take him down and beat him up. Bisping does not have the power to knock out an iron jawed Hendo (or anyone for that matter) and I see this fight going the distance in a one sided decision for Dan the man.
Overall a great card and cant wait for Saturday night!
