TWO SEASONS TWO PRO'S

Blame the EPA, not Polaris. Theyre building what we want, and EPA is throwing requirements at them that make any engine less reliable.

The EPA had nothing to do with Polaris designing an engine with short rod syndrome. Though i do agree with you for the most part, they (EPA) are alot of the problem.

As for those who dont believe in my sled, its really simple: put an older reliable engine in a new style chasis. All the advancements in fuel injection and whatnot really hasnt done anything for performance, it was all done to meet EPA requirements just like xc6rider stated.

are they're really very many 2 stroke 800s from any brand making it much more than 2500 miles with out pretty major engine work ????

not in my group :face-icon-small-sad

i think its the heavy sustained loads we put them through
my buddy got a mountainhorse and it wore out his 450 so quick
shoot for the fuel he was burning he should have change the oil mid day:face-icon-small-sho

Although most of my motors go to about 3k miles, i do belive they should last at least 10,000 miles by now. If you look at most sleds 5-8 years ago would last at least 4-5k miles before a rebuild. At least what ive noticed...

Im not complaining becuase the price of pistions isnt bad, just like the car industry and gas milage.... Fancy doo dads, but better gas milage in a 1970 chavette....

Otherwise...:rockon::rockon::rockon:

The thing that I find a little weird.... everyone praises Polaris for "listening" to their customers and rips Cat and Doo for not listening and putting on more weight...... But Polaris is not listening either! If they were then they would really look at this motor. It doesn't get the job done, and instead of really fixing it they keep trying to do little tweaks.... new injectors etc.

I love the sled (think it needs to gain a little weight in a few places).... but Polaris isn't listening any better than anyone else. They each have a place that they want to focus and don't care about the other issues.... And now we are starting to praise the motor for 2000 trouble free miles??

Very well said!!!

Probably not want many want to hear but very accurate nonetheless.................

For how much these sleds cost, they should last more than 2000 miles! My sled has about 2200 on it and I need new pistons and cylinder... I'm starting to remeber why I hate Polaris. And I don't have a warranty any more.

Like mentioned above, a new crankcase and crank in 2500 miles is a HUGE deal! And according to Polaris, their engine's don't have problems. If that's the case, then how come injectors are backordered?

so how come the pre 11 demo pros that went out to all the dealers went 7to10000 miles fasttrack in heber had 2 of them when i bought my pro one had 8000 miles the other one had 7000 miles how many times did polaris sneak new pistons in them cause the dealers sure bragged up the longevity of the new ''motor'' over the dragon
