stage II powderlite kit 12lbs pump gas 270+hp for $5995 plus shipping

Does anyone know how to calculate turbo output per/pound? I was told and this is only for fast numbers. To say roughly 10 horse/per 1 lb? So with this in mind, I think the numbers for this kit is high??

12lbs @ 10 horse/per lb = 120 horse power.
Nytro dyno sheet says 138 horse power(roughly) so say 140 for easy numbers
so a turbo nytro should be 120+140=260. But I would think this number to be to high as well. Does anyone have a better way to calculate this?? Also is this a safe number to run on pump fuel? I think I would run some race fuel mixed in. Thanks for any imput.
Sorry didn't want to steal your thread, just wanted to help you with some #'s. It's neat for us to know as well. Thanks

12lbs boost on pump gas for 270hp sounds a little optimistic to me. I have to run around 18 to get that. I could probably get away with pump with meth/water injection.

dave at powerlites dyno says 286 at 14 psi

I know what his website and dyno vid says. Just think about the numbers. Alpine is 240 HP at 12-13psi same as MCX.

Its a good kit, I considered taking my MCX off and going with it.

To the best of my knowledge the Powderlites runs a slightly larger turbo and larger intercooler than the MCX. The control box also allows for more timing in the lower RPM and retards as the RPM increases...which also helps with the low end throttle response. I think there are quite a few benefits with he Powderlites system...not to mention that they are alot closer to home!!

Dave has spent a lot of time and effort developing efficiencies in other parts of the kit besides the turbos and it has payed off in hihger dyno numbers. If I recall that 286 number is also at sea level. When I had him work over my turbo last spring I couldn't believe it was the same unit when I reinstalled it. There are lots of places to get more power besides boost levels.

alittle of topic but

We are spoiled with good dealers for turbo yami's. Powderlites, Alpine, PGY, Vernon, SLY, etc, are all very good shops. I don't think another brand has the aftermarket support in BC/AB like yami does. Impulse has great support if you're in that area of the states. Shipping and the CDN $ kinda puts the hurt on now though.

You could dyno your sled on two different dyno's and get completely different numbers. Ralph at Split Second explained dyno calibration to me one time and a good dyno operator can give really impressive numbers. A lot of Ralph's engines would embarass motors that boasted higher hp numbers, ask anyone who has a Split Second or Mad Max motor. I believe Ralph sold that dyno and someone was telling me the other day how disappointed they were with their dyno numbers from the new owner, although I did explain to them how conservative the dyno was calibrated. You need honest comparisons between sleds on the same dyno, on the same day to really mean anything. Getting the power to the ground is also huge in your overall satisfaction and their are many, many variables in clutching, gearing, suspension, tracks etc. All these turbo packages seem to work very well, helps when we have really good motors to put them on. Enjoy your choice, either way, reliable boosted 4 strokes rock :D

Turbo Kits
RX1 / Vector = $ 5,995 Can
Apex = $ 6,995 Can
FX Nytro Kit = $ 5,995 Can
FX Nytro Kit Stage 2 = $ 6,795 Can
Dynoed over 280 HP on 14 PSI Boost

Top of the list would be reliable power, but what kind of power? HP or Torque? TORQUE = Acceleration HP = Speed
Snowmobiles in the mountains with deep powder track require a different package than the guy with short track setup for radar running. Fit and finish is where our pride of workmanship comes into play. Not all turbo kits comes as complete kit. Our turbo kits set us apart from the rest by design and engineering. With many years of experience in the motorcycle and snowmobile industry, we have never been so excited by the preliminary results of testing a new engine package.
Early testing was done quietly on the 3 cyl. Vector series with astonishing torque and HP numbers, field testing backed everything up beyond our expectations.
Armed with our prototype Vector, we went to Big Iron Shootout in Revy to confirm what we felt was a high point in our R&D. Not only satisfied with the results after running head to head with the best of the best, we were shocked at the response from the competitors we ran down and general interest in our 3 cyl. engine program. We took a pump gas knife to a race gas gun fight and drove away proud of our achievement.
Enter in the new 1050 cc fuel injected FX Nytro which is 50 lbs. lighter and just begging for the same Turbo enhancement as the Vector. After some top secret late night thrashing, preliminary testing showed a very promising results. We feel the new Nytro outfitted with a Powderlites Turbo is going to set a new mark in the Turbo sled market.
10 FEATURES that put POWDERLITES FX Nytro Turbo Kits on top:

1. A Turbo that is large enough for big boost #'s but still response at low boost.
2. Ceramic coated exhaust housing for performance and longevity.
3. Ported waste gate for better throttle response.
4. New dual exhaust to match the ported turbo housing.
5. Wideband gauge, boost gauge and brackets included in the kit.
6. A sweet sounding stainless and aluminum muffler for stealthy buyers.
7. Large volume, high flow intercooler with integrated positive mounting to eliminate blowoffs.
8. Extreme blowoff valve integrated at a strategic position in charge system.
9. New designed EFI controller with accurate low boost sensing ability.
10. Kit will come sub assembled ready to mount.
