Nice work guys.

Kind of funny. I was bored the other day and was reading some of Dan's posts from the old forum (2006) where Dan was convinced that everybody must run high angle helix's on high torque twin engine's. It's very cool that he's open minded enough to change and adapt to what works best.

This was fun times

Good read

I've heard that running a higher angle helix is much better for turbo sleds as well...Seems like a lot of conflicting information with everyone's machines running great. Goes to show there are multiple ways to scramble an egg I guess.

I'm running dan's clutch kit on my axys with a pipe, porting and head. And the low helix angles , light spring (125-175) work Sooo good. Also dan's helix goes into reverse unlike the team ones that slip the belt and don't move.

I spoke in depth to Tony today ( thanks for your time young man)

I received a new run down list of what TCP has left in stock from TCP today- but .... I called Tony back and informed him that all the TCP weights are tempered, so drilling them is going to be a bit of a SOB without titanium bits or mill them with the green wheel.

I can share the list if ya all want to take a peak, but the heavy weights over 75 grms are all gone.
Seems like they went pretty fast- but wanted all to know that these are hardened weights.

OK so here in Canada running a 2017 174 AXYS mtntk turbo 8 lbs 2 to 3 plus feet of fresh pow.

120-330 primary
75.8 lighting
140-220 secondary spring
46-32f helix
new gates carbon belt
shimmed primary

This does not work for this sled and for our riding area at 6000 feet.
I did swap the primary to the 140 330 and it picked up the lazy engagement. The primary had a lot of rubber about a inch down from the top of the primary, and the secondary had lots of rubber down close to the bottom. It felt great off the bottem and in the mid but felt it just hit a wall on the top.... hence the rubber on the clutches. Same day swapped out the secondary from the other mtntk turbo pro we were with and night and day difference.
58-42-36-er black purple spring. What do you guys think?

Your sled is COMPLETELY different than what it's been in before. COMPLETELY!!!! I wouldn't expect you to hit it right away.

What's your gearing?

2.20 with the 7 tooth avid drivers. I didnt expect to hit it first time out as this sled is loading more for sure. Thats why im posting lol

So final drive is 2.39:1. Same as Travis and I, but we're on 155 2.6 and 163 2.6 tracks. We obviously don't have the massive slippage you're experiencing. Same elevation, similar snow, same turbo. We are running significantly more boost to pull those weights though, ~9.5 psi at the compressor housing.

Lets see that primary.
If you have black rubber your loosing grip on the belt.
What is that 174 geared to.

The 58 42 and Black purple spring should slow and hold back upshift.
How was your belt deflection with the 46-32
Also who's 120-330.
Why did you make the move to AVID drivers?
Can you also supply a pic of both sides of your belt?
Are you still running the 19/44 gear set?
Trying to help you out, lets see if we can get the 174 package right.
