I hear about trenching all the time and how some sleds and tracks are trenchers and especially the 07 Rev being a "Real Trencher". My question is this, what exactly does trenching mean? Is it digging a hole up to the running boards when you try and take off. Does it mean you leave a bigger trench than the other sleds while climbing? Just what exactly does everyone consider trenching to be?? I need to know because the sled I am riding may be a "trencher" and I don't even know it.

its that sick feeling you get right before the sled stops moving...and when you turn around and look behind you..the *** end of your sled is nowhere to be seen...................

One time I looked back goin up a hill climb and I seen a few krouts jump in with bayonets!!

thats when you know she's a "good" trencher! or bad, depending on how you look at it.
they all trench.

To answer your question, YES, you are correct, that is what trenching is.

Follow an APEX for a few minutes....You'll understand what it means.

Thanks guys for all your input. I kinda already knew what trenching was, i just needed to see what everyone else considered it to be. It seams from the replys that all sleds and tracks trench just some do it better and faster than others:p And I now know that I too ride a sled that is a trencher. However depending on the conditions and the mountains that I am riding in ... It may not be. Thanks again Rhino

DooRock you just made me have flash backs from the last 2 days on my buddies 07x. My dragon is in the shop and he was nice enough to loan me his. Friday night we had a guys date jump in one of my trenches and it was deep enough you couldn't see the top of her helmet:D
