TRADE IN PRICES?

Wondering if anyone has talked to their dealer about trading in their 2013 Pro for a 2014, and what kind of deal can you get when ordering a new one? I have 900 miles on mine, it is in great shape. I will put the stock shocks, which have never been ridden, and the stock exhaust back on. Everything else is stock. Plastics are in great shape, sled is straight and clean.

Why trade it in?

Not really a diff in the two other than the quick drive, hopefully will be made more reliable than it is now.

On a great condition used unit... expect to take a $3000 - $4000 hit.

IMO keep your current sled and do some upgrades on your own.

Trade?

If your out of warranty, I could understand a trade, other wise you would just be throwing money down a hole IMHO. I would love to trade every year, but they are just stealing your money if ya do.

Last year I was quoted $3800 otd diff from an 12 155 es to a 13 163 PS standard color.I am going out of warranty soon so checked a 14 163 le gloss red ES.Price was 6 k all in OTD.that's Canadian with 2 yr warranty no acc..option for 2 more yr warranty is $990 next fall.glad I waited and used up my warranty on my 12

Traded my 2011 assault for a 13 pro. 4800 with 2 year warranty to boot for me. I felt it was a little much but my assault has seen a lot better days, oh well not my problem anymore.

There are some dealers out there that will not take a trade in.

If you look at recent history 1 year old sleds are selling each fall for $2,000 to $2,500 less than list when new. So then the dealer looks to make $1,000 and has to build in a bit of cushion so they offer you $2,000 under retail. So there you are at $3,000 to $4,000 to what a new 2014 lists for.

What he said, exactly. They are talking trade-in discount, not outright sale. Now, if you got +1000 off list when you bought the sled you're trading, it hurts abit less.

MH, what changes do the 14s have on the QD system? just the belt?

The clamp thingy comes standard on the 14 drive shaft.
The drive shaft and gears are "closer tolerances" and the belt is 40% stronger. Polaris said that the new parts will go right on a 13.

Those are the only changes from a 13 to a 14. I was quoted $12,058 snow check for a 2014 plus tax and license. I have found a left over 2013 for $10,000 out the door. I'm taking the 13.

Other than regional sales reps and dealers that got the story at the dealers meeting... there is zero reliable info out there on what, if any improvements the 2014 will actually have.

Official, Direct Polaris' position is that the QD system will essentially the same...
With a "better" belt... 25% - 40% stronger... but in what characteristics... There is no information available at this time.

Yikes, $6000.00 that is a big hit just to have a warranty. Your getting a longer track granted...but...thats alot of cash.

Are you serious? The drive shaft has a clamp on it?
MH.....On the QD belt. If want a spare for my 2013 I should buy a 2014 Belt?
Sorry for getting off subject...........

MH has a post on this subject that is new like today so you need to read it.
but yes you should get the '14 belt and it will fit your '13.

And yes the clamp comes standard although Poo doesn't really think it's needed but people made such a big deal out of the drive shaft failures they are putting them on anyway.
