Track speed?

I am running a stock 153 camo track on my little m8 Cat. Thinking of changing. Should I go with a 153 power claw, or what? How much will it effect my track speed? I Don't really want to go any longer. I need something that is not so scary coming back down the hills.
My current track speed pulling hills is turning 130 km. per hr. or a bit over 80 mph.

track speed has far too many variables to be a unit of measurement that means anything....ie snow conditions, track weight and length, hill angle

i tried that stock camo track for a few rides.....complete POS for turbo applications and non-turbo applications if you ask me...the powder claw is nice, but its best to pony up for the "real deal" aka the camo extreme 2.5 lug:beer;

sidenote - no real hill will allow a TM8 to pull 80MPH, id call that a tracked up bunny hill;):beer;

Will this track work on a 05 M7 162? My track is in need of replacing this year.

well since i've rode this sled up hills that are far from exact bunny hills, and in 1-1/2 to 2 ft of fresh, artic doo's sled at 12-13lbs boost was pulling 125ish km track speed, ground speed of course wasn't near that, and you are right, i had to let off because i scared myself haha.

the power claw is not a good turbo track, I just switched to the extreme and it puts a bunch more power to the snow.

the PC work great in soft snow, If you ride where the snow sets up quick or on the west coast where its heavy wet snow you will benifit from the CE.

It's not that great.

I think if you set your skid up right the tracks do not make that much of a difference. I know a lot of guys swear by the power claw but in my opinion the camo extreme is still a better track. Probably going to get blasted for this but it is almost as fast coming down steep as the old attack 20...We were climbing up a fairly good pull and had to come down through a bunch of trees and there was only one lane down. guys behind me were yelling at me to get going because they were coming up behind me and could not stop or even slow down.

Hatcher, You are correct, there are variables, but I wasn't born yesterday and all I wanted was a few opinions of different tracks, what would benefit, that's all. Same snow conditions,track for track. Thanks for your track opinion, but I've been sledding for 35 years. Bunny hill! Tracked up no less. Pretty opinionated for some one who wasn't there, didn't know the snow conditions. Were we ride we do have "real hills", oh, but maybe you've never heard of Revy, Sicamous. B.C.

sidenote- "bunny hill", you must found that in the playboy centerfold! You should really get out and ride more often, you'd like it. cheers:beer;

id like to know how track speed is pointless. thats like saying a track spining at 40km is gonna go as high as one at 130km..As you know artic doo i took that stock track off and put a power claw on my turbo kitty and i must say it made a world of a difference

If you are concerned about the downhill speed, the CE will scuff off speed easier that the powder claw. We have had several "tests" involving the two tracks, and the CE has alwys got the nod when it came to downhill manners. We are not talking remotely close to the difference the old attack 20 made, but there is a discernable difference between the CE and PC.

My 02.
