track length

Sometimes ya gotta stop for a breather in the deep stuff. Getting going is easier with the longest track you can find!!

if anything i want a shorter track in the mountains not longer

theres some funny stuff on here. most of the guys i ride with have 146 xps and from what i can tell we ride in deep snow and i think the hills are big around here. if anything i want a shorter track way more fun for playing around in the mountains.

depends on your riding style these threads are all over every forum just do a search.

i like short tracks but i like to play in deep snow and tight trees and jump and generaly just piss around but also have to pull big deep hills to get to these places i prefer the manouverability of the shorter track and on the rediculously deep days its a power issue that slows me down not track length.
so each to there own i say short track but if unsure i would go with a 150ish length track but who realy cares learn to ride what you got.

It's not even possible to ride a shorter track than a 174, if you've got anything shorter you'll just fall into the snow & never be seen again.

It's a fact.

LOL...that's cuz we fall into your massive trenches ;)

I ride a 151x2 1/4x13.5 track. There are times I wish I had a bigger track and then there are times I don't. I see pros and cons to both. Biggest thing is to have some buddys and ride there sleds to see what is good for you. :beer;

watch this vid below i looks like its a 136+ish track look at it, it barely can get around on almost flat ground, lets get this on a slight incline he wouldnt make it anywhere, but let me guess its the rider he sucks that why the sled wont go anywhere "hes on practicly flat ground"

my cousin had a edge with 995 psi 136 it wont even get to where our 174 sleds go i guess if we made a paved road everywhere we go i guess it could but that dosnt mean it goes everywhere our long sleds go. but maybe thats because of our rideing style

Our whole group rides 153-155". Fun for jumping, and good for almost any terrain or snow conditions.

Hmm, I got quite a few buddys that ride 146 xp's and I ride a 155 poo, they all seem to get around pretty good in Stewart b.c. Not sure where you guys are riding that you "must" have a 174 I highly doubt you get more pow than Stewart. I don't think anywhere on earth gets more snow than there.
I had a 163 didn't have as much fun on it

Ride what you want and who cares. This topic has been beat to death. A good rider on a shorter track will make an average rider on a longer track look stupid. The mid 150's tracks do everything good The longer ones don't. It is about what you can live with or live without.

Yep......as long as the user is happy with their sled, that's what is most important. :beer;

Very true about the rider ability! :)

You obviously don't ride in DEEP snow. We ride with sleds (doos) that have this track and they can't even track poach a long track sled up the hill in the deep.

thanks for the input mr. helper, for those 2 days a year that are four feet of light powder i have a little trouble, as for two feet of fresh i do just fine

true dat how many days a year are realy that deep? wish there were more but there usualy isnt. maybe a couple times a year i want more power and a bigger track. the rest of the time i will stick with what i got it works for me maybe not everyone else but who cares. actualy i dont even know anyone in my area that has 170 track lengths. and last time i checked i lived in the mountains and its been known to get a little deep here.

this topic will go in circles for ever. the only reason i respond to topics like this is for some entertainment because im away from home for a week at a time and stuck in front of a computer for a good part of it. otherwise i wouldnt even waste my time i would be sledding or skiing. i wonder if a lot of people on here spend more time cleaning and talking about there sleds than riding the things.
