Track for Nytro?

Ok guys, we have talked about what track is best and the consensus is the Challenger extreme. But what size? I love the way the sled handles in the deep with the current track, and I like the light weight, so I am leaning to a C.E. 153"x15" x2.25. Any thoughts? Not planning on turbo, my nuts are just not that big, just a continuing diet for the sled. Even with the stock track I can hang with my doo buddies no problem, would just like a little more stick, especially on the way down. The maverick is a greasy ***** on anything but pow.
Thanks!

im going with the C.E as well but 156x15x2.5 . if youre not planning a turbo i dont think you would need a fully clipped track though, the AC camo 153x15x2.25 is alot cheeper than the fully clipped style :beer;

how do you find that works on a stock sled being that its a 2.5 lug.. like does it turn that track really good and handle the same? cuz if so IAM SOLD!!

I want the 2.5" also, but was told it would not fit. Was told you could only run 2.25"

Did you have to do any mods to make this work? Do the lugs rub at all?

How much for the rail extensions ? Got a good deal on a Camo 162 16 2/12 and wondering how tight a fit it is. Heard there is no need for tunnel extension with 162.

a 16 wide i guess will fit you just have to mod some rivits and the drop brackets.

and when i had mine upside down on the side of the mnt, checkint the track of coarse, it looks like you could go another inch in the tunnel at the front heat exchanger, so i would amagin that a 2.5 would fit fine.

and i know only one person who did that 162 without a tunnel extension but he is running flat rails and 8 inch wheels

It's close (probably .125" clearance), but after 370 miles there are no rub marks on the front heat exchanger. I was told it would not fit but after measuring 5 times I did it anyway. Don't always believe what you hear, check it out for yourself.

Oh yah, the tunnel extension is not necessary, I just like the clean look. Finishes the rear of the sled smoothly rather than the stock "chopped off" look. Just my opinion. I think there is about 1/4" clearance at the rear with the stocker.

The Hartman rail extensions are $90. I had mine in 4 days. Tom is great for customer service.

That's good to know! I'm curious to know if you are running that track with a stock nytro or boosted? If stock, did it make a big difference over the 153" maverick? How well does a stock set-up spin the Extreme?

Thanks!

I can vouch for snocattin's set up. :) It FLAT works!!! This is the kind of snow I saw it in, and it was kicking butt on everything. ALMOST made this gal that bleeds green think about going blue.

i have the CR tunnel, stock rear skid, rail ext with the 162x15x2.5 & love it(wish i could get pics to work for me) I also had the exhaust re-routed under the tunnel so i can carry gas eveyday. we put a Yosh muffler on it & it works great & sounds wicked!! I'm getting anywhere i want to go..........trees, climbs & boondocking with anybody out there(just cant point straight up & go)

Just woundering if you noticed any power loss on your stock Nytro with a 162 track?

Did you gear it down?

Adjustment to the clutch?

honestly never rode it with the stock track. i have left the clutching & gearing alone for now other than tightening the 2nd spring a little bit like i was told at my dealer(tried to get a diff prim spring but none at my dealer) i'm actually interested to hear other guys & what they're doing now with some miles on & seat time with them. i'm about 800km & seems to be getting better (holding rpm) in the steep & deep. i don't know if a gear change is needed? i guess i'll be asking around for some input as well

T bone- what RPM are you pulling with the 162 track??

What elevation are you riding at?

Mines only pulling 8150 on the hills with the stock track at 10,000 feet elevation. I have 3 shims in the primary and 2ndary is set at 70 degrees deflection. I think I am going to increase the 2ndary to 90 degrees, and see if I can get to the recommended 8750 RPM.

If your not pulling 8750, your leaving alot on the table.

Zsnow, I start at about 10,000 and go up to about 12,500. I was only pulling about the same rpm's under load as you. I took my weights to Xtreme (where I bought my sled) and got the updated weights. I don't have a scale and wouldn't give their info out anyway but I will say they took a lot more weight off than I thought they were. I really hope it will pulls 8700-8800 under load because it rips on the trail.

And what a pain in the *** to learn a new clutch. Had my Poo P-85 dialed in to .5 gram for the altitude I ride with the perfect spring\helix combo. Now I wouldn't know the difference between a green or black or red spring and no idea even where to start with helix.

Friso prox- Are you running the stock track or 162??

I'm still running stock track, I think I will gear down to a 18 tooth top gear if I go 162 Camo with 2.5 lugs. Anyone with some experience on this matter?
