hey guys i have an 06 yamaha apex with 4000km's already on it. Last year i finally made the sled rideable and dropped a bunch of weight with suspension and other lite parts. I want to put a powederlites stage 1 turbo kit on it next fall. Are there too many km's on the engine to make it worthwhile and still be reliable? Or would i be better off selling this sled then buying a new sled then turbo it the turbo it after 1 year?
thanks
spenser

Should be ok, do compression and leakdown tests on it.. Wouldnt hurt to do rings while ur changin timing.. does it burn oil at now? Climbax has a few with major miles if i remember right. Like in the 20000kms.

u just broke it well broke in. shes ready for more.
your bushings will be the only things on a yamaha that ever need changing.
Bang on!boost it,20,000klm before a valve set,have a experienced turbo shop install it,2 installs a year ain't experience

Just make sure you know what you're buying. Just worked on one of these "good deals" for someone. Chafed wiring harnesses, missing suspension parts, useless clutching, chaincase together wrong, hacked wiring, just a real wormcan. You wanna be miles from anywhere on that....take a fire extinguisher.

Leak the motor down, or have it done for you if you don't have the tools. If the engine is still tight leave the rings alone. To do a proper ring swap you need to have the block diamond-honed, and you won't find this type of hone at your typical machine shop.

ya i don;t got the tools for leakdown where could i get done. Dealership should be able to do that eh?. as for the idea of going with a different sled i would not buy used turbo i would prolly get yammies new sled that will replace the apex.

x2 leave it alone

Any dealership should be able to help you out with a leakdown test.
