Togwotee room charge

What's up with the 5% gratuity room charge? Might not be so bad if our cabin was cleaned on a daily basis. We had to call front desk everyday when we got in to get the garbage, towels and tp!! Don't think a tip was in order.

And for those of you that were out there Jan. 6-10, you know the hot tub wasn't working. Understandable, things break down, but on the 8th, a guy was there fixing it. We talked to him and he said it would be working that nite. So we checked it out later that nite and an employee said won't be working until the next day. We walked by a little later and found a pile of employees in there!! Seems they wanted a nite to themselves. After paying $200 a nite for a cabin, wasn't real happy!!! Sorry about the rant but wanted to share.

Maybe that the price to pay for some of the best snow in the country. It was awesome conditions!!:D:D

thumbs down for Tog mtn lodge - X2

TML is over priced, over rated, and a lot of the help there are just rude and don't have a clue. I stayed there with my wife a year ago and I will not go back.

Food is buffet style crap, bar is over priced and I had to get my own drinks every time we needed one, bartender girl was too busy chatting with the other pot head stoners to actually tend bar, I could go on but you get my drift.

Plenty of other places to stay around Tog

They are still trying to fix that thing...HAHa WE got the same line back in mid Dec. It will be up on Tues night... No no now Thurs morning... La da da da la.

YES! another charge too look forward when Im there...
Ive had a great time RIDING out there since I started out west a couple yrs ago but so-so service and meals(amongst other things) Is likly going to have me looking real hard at other areas for a western trip come next yr, unless im treated to a nice suprise when I go out in a few weeks...
Even after a # of issues were brought up last yr and supposedly being addressed by Mgnt it seems given this and several other reports this season already that little has changed as of yet...

I just spent a week in Steam Boat and EVERY place we ate or drank charged a 18-20% gratuity and there was only 4 of us:eek: EVERY round they brought had 20% added:mad:

Along with the take your money tip on the rooms, the worst bartending I have seen in years. 2 bartenders standing be hind the bar but will not wait on tables:mad::mad::mad:. The upside is the snow, next time will check into lava.:beer;:beer; They also seem to have lights out problem at 12:00 pm at the bar, it seems people go out there just to ride.

we were just there for 3 days the worst service, food, sleeping ever had. cold showers every night boiler probs, next morning no warm food because gas was off or something, third day they were about out of gas for sleds,we left a day early and slept down the hill. never se me there again!

I've been there 12+ & never had it that bad, had issues from time to time. 1 time since its turned over to Aramark.
Always looked the bill over at checkout, mostly where I've had problems.
:rolleyes:I may have 1 of the stoners she was talking to:beer;

Come see us and you will not have any of those issues.

so sad

It's such a beautiful location and a great setup. They truly don't understand what a gold mine they have there if they would only treat people with a little dignity & respect. I will be heading there tomorrow to ride only! We will be sleeping, eating, showering, drinking & playing cards in our trailer. They won't be seeing a dime from us again after last year! Looks like another storm is coming too, so the snow should be awesome!! :D

i just got back from lava on saturday and we closed the bar with the owner james a couple nights!!! we had a great time and had no problems all the prices were reasonable! and we went 2 tog 4 lunch one day n not impressed still!! brooks was very nice though and very good food very good!!!!! if you go to lava im sure you will be treated well and if you arent you must be very difficult to please!!!!!

Whatever you do do not stay at the Super 8 in Dubois. Spent a week there and was the worst hotel stay ever. No clean towels spent twenty minutes chasing them down every time we needed them. Third night without our sheets changed we left a note asking for clean ****s. They pulled the dirty sheets off and left the clean ones crumpled in piles on the beds. Absolutely piss poor!

We arrived at 8 pm and one truck load from our group had to go to three different cabins before they found one that was made up. We too had no room service. Some people in our group liked the food others hated it.

I waited at the bar with money in hand for 8+ minutes while the two bartenders watched a group try to bounce quarters off the bar and into their tip bucket. I figured my $2 tip for two drinks wasn't good enough for them so I went back to the cabin to drink.

List of things to bring next time.
1. More alcohol ( drink in cabin not bar ).
2. Own towels
3. Extra toilet paper
4. Extra garbage bags
5. More food ( stay out of restaurant )

People thought last year was bad service, but last year was five star compared to this year.
Done venting now I feel better.

I'm sure they are like anyone else "out west", (Cooke, Snowy, where ever), they are limited on the mouth breathers they can hire. The 20 year old potsmoke doesn't give a rip.

We stay in the cabins, nuke or hot pad the food, brink some gas cans, grill on the porch and drink 3 beers. Sleep. Ride.

We've been fine there, other than a little more than say Snowy.

Eric

Definetly BYOB!! I think it needs to go back to a ma & pa operation. Seems like when big corps. take over, the attention to detail and customer service goes right done the crapper!!

It doesn't take much to please our group. Just keep our glasses FULL!!!:beer;:beer;

Duncan,
I have been coming out there for 5 years now, the last two where bad, bad service at the front desk, bar, restarant,Room. I have been in business for a long time, one thing I have learned is that problems start and stop at the top...You should be seeing all of these things as you run the place.
Maybe you should be auditing your people with room checks suprise bar and restarant visits...I spend alot of money to come out and ride eat and drink with friends. We have talked in the past about these things and it does not seem to change a thing. This is why I am posting my complant's...You have a great place I hope you can turn things around soon so I can come back...
