The Last 4 Days!

Lots Of Powder / Stuck!

6 weeks of epic powder came to a brief end since temps the past 2 days have been in the mid to upper 30's and have really settled up the snowpack for the 1st time this season. More snow is expected several inches each day through out the week.

We'll be sledding into June if that helps.

Anyone riding tomorrow?

Spending 4 days at the Togwotee lodge starting tomorrow (first time there), is there maps available or can someone point us in a good direction, and where not to go. I am a good rider with a group of others. and was told that guides will not take you to anything good, so why pay the money to ride the trail.
Thanks Evan

If you are staying at the lodge and are on the package, don't make the mistake of not using their guides. They will show you back country with minimal trail riding. You generally only use the trails to get back at the end of the day. They are great people and you will be impressed.

Tips are appreciated and well deserved.

Have to agree with Sally, HUGE mistake not to go with a guide. You will spend your whole trip trying to figure out what they already know. The guide will watch you ride and put in conditions to match or even push your ability and equipment. You won't have to worry about where you are going or how to get back. Worth the while for sure!!!

Sally, Rode Fri, Sat, Sun. Can't give tooooo much up but OOOHHH Buddy!!!!!!! If I could figure out how to get pics on here I would post some up. Call me with your e-mail and I will send you some.

Ben. Ben? Where are you? I know you must have a pocket full of new pics.

We are riding Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed. Will you be able to make it up one or two days? I want to go work down out of D/K . If we could solidify a way out it opens up a big area. We might have too many people to do serious exploring though. There will be a dozen people stuck getting to where we need to drop out! We want to drop off the back of Jasons meadows also. CG is going to have the big one.

we will be heading out to either cooke city or togwotee over sping break, I have never been to togwotte. how does it compare to cooke city? I saw some clips of togwotte on the braaap dvd and it looked awesome

Wouldn't ask for Bob so don't worry..Especially if Carter or Dave B are around!!!!! It's runnin so let's ride DPSNODNO!!

Just wondering what is the best route to take from Mpls. MN

Can't say for sure it is the BEST route, since I haven't taken others, but this one was highly recommended to my buddy and I and it has worked well for us:

I-90 to Rapid city, go south on HWY 79, turn west at Hot Springs and pick up Hwy 18 and take that all the way to Lusk, WY which it turns to Hwy 85. (actually at Mule Crk Junction) That will lead to I-25 which of course leads you to Casper, then pick up 26 west. You can save some additional time by avoiding going all the way to Riverton. But I can't recall the county road number for that cutoff. I think it is labeled as 'to Pavillion'.

This route is about 1050 miles from Rogers, MN to Union Pass. Takes 15+ to 18 hours depending on how much winter driving you get into and how many gas stops you need. There are lots of places for gas on this route, so even with my damn Hemi Jeep slurping fuel and needing gas every 150-200 miles there have been no problems finding it.

that is the exact route that we take and it is usuallly pretty good road the whole way. it just may be a little slick between hot springs and edgemont
