Togwotee or Big Horns?

Big Horns

I have been going to Cooke City for years and always love it. We did go to the big horns this year for the first time and we had a lot of fun, but i think that was because people were telling us the snow was the best they had ever seen in the big horns the week we were there. I think it is a great place it the snow conditions are great but not so fun if they were not.

tog is great, it has something for everyone! stay where u want.
due to some our flatlanders fly-n-rent we stay at the tog lodge.

But our self-sufficient types stay at Lava Mtn for up to 10-14days at a time.
They rave about the service, food, price, and overall experience.

Togwotee

how much you think you spend on gas trailering up from dubois and back>? how many min drive is it from town?

Its 30 minutes up and 30 minutes and the cost depends what ur pullin outfit gets for mileage its roughly 60 miles up and back to Dubious.

I've been too togwotee, horns, snowies all twice, and cooke city once. Togwotee is by far my favorite. Staying at togwotee lodge is awesome except that its soooo expensive.

I have to agree, the Bighorns are usually a wee bit short on snow and I'd have to say Tog is overrated. The only time Tog is any good is after a big storm with a couple feet of fresh. The topography is either nearly flat or nearly vertical. Horse Creek northwest of Pinedale has much more diversity.
