I've just read on their website there is no food or beverage service after 9/25/08.

Anyone have some more info or insight on this?? No bar??

Thanks in advance.

from what i gather, they are a seasonal staffing resort. they semi close in the off season. reducing staff and features. after fall peaks, they reduce services till sledding starts (usually fully open the week or so before xmas depending on weather). they run full service until shortly after the first weekend in april or so (depending on amount of reservations and conditions). ski

they don't see many customers between the end of hunting season and the start of sled season, they will start serving again in Dec I think.

Just the seasonal nature of the business out there. Between April and late May, and again in late September thru late November it's not a happening joint like it is during the other periods of the year. No worries, they wouldn't dare do something like that, they have too many parking lot posers that need refreshments!

I made reservations at the lodge for Dec 1st for 2 rooms.....Thats when Actic Cat and others are filming their new sleds and all....I was told its the 1st week of December....Now was told they are pretty quick in getting away from the public to do their filming.
But last year they had the helicopters and all their.

Are really going there thinking you will see something? Come on, that's not worth going for just that. It's not like you are going to be able to "hob nob" with all of them and get inside information and bring back here to snowest or even ride something new. Most of the time it's just different graphics because that's all the camera can really see.

Twogotee lodge is fully staffed during the season. I have been there many times and have nothing but good to say about them. My first tip to Twogotee was in 1983 and my most recent trip was last year - food and service was fantastic.

Can you ride right from the Lodge? What is the riding like? I'm not looking for a lot of big hills, I'm thinking about bring the family down and do more trail riding. Is there a restaurant at the lodge?

captjack , Togwatee is a great multi dimensional sled riding area that suites all kinds of tastes from beginner to extreme mtn riders. You park your truck and never start it again until it's time to go home. Fuel and services right on site and it's fun to go ride for a few hours and return to a warm hot meal and cold drinks in the lounge..fuel up and do it all again. i think it's all about 8000-9000 ish feet. The top is around 10500ish. Many many miles of trails with all kinds of terrain from mild to wild. You can even trail or easily get less extreme riders clear up to the top to see the continental divide and incredible views. Huge open expanses of rolling hills with modest ravines to play in. There are modestly steep treed hillsides and then there are monster crash your sled pulls if you know where to look. The other big plus is that if you ride with less experienced people or less aggressive people they can stay on or near the trail and you can be out tearing it up all within a short distance of one another. IE fun time for all irregardless of the rider skillset or comforts. Really worth a look for a great family sledding vacation.

Weaknesses we've seen over the years is the food service outside of primetime and a bit of a bad attitude from some of the bar staff...that was all days gone by and sounds like new management has addressed those issues.

Plus side is great lodging..hot tub...bar...games..great riding conditions normally..big trail system..shop and fuel services. 1hr from Jackson for the family to see while you are in the neighborhood.

On their website I hit "Make a reservation"...............then clicked "Book your reservation" in the center of the page and that is where is said no food or beverage after 9/25. Now when I try to access that page on their website I get an error message.:confused:

Over in the Wyoming Forum, Ben Wallace has typed an update as to new items this year and the such. I will ask this question to Ben in that forum.

All the food and beverage thing means is that during the off season, which is now until the first part of december, there is no food or bar service at the lodge. Basically if you wanted to come up and stay at the lodge during the off season, i.e. to hunt or sightsee, it is just warning you of that. Full service will restore the first part of december.

I know I might not "hobnob' or will not with them guys but its cool to see them from a distance and the film crew and all.Plus its cheap to stay their at the lodge..$76.00 for the night the first part of December.
Last year we did get some shirts and stickers from the reps but no inside info on the sleds we did not even get to see the new sleds.

Oh Yea iam am what Iam>>>LOL
You know thats a good thing about this Snowest thread people can joke around and most of us do not get our feelings hurt...............Its all in fun and have to do somthing till the snow starts....................
