So over the weekend the boys and i where out tear'n it up as usual. On the ride down the hill after a long day of powder and digging:rolleyes: my friend lost control of his sled and took a deader into a 10" alder off the side of the trail. Crunched hood, belly pan broken trailing arm etc... So asside from some bruising he'll be ok. So here's my beef The sled is sitting vertical up against the tree 6 feet down in a creek bed, im standing on the trail, my friend down in the creek. Some jerk off comes blazing up on his Apex slows down opens his modular faced helmet as if to ask "need help" but said nothing then speeds off. Followed by his wife or boyfriend (did'nt get a good look) WHO DOESNT STOP? **** i stop if there's people justed parked on the trail to ask if all is good. After several attempts we managed to get sled sled out and down the hill. So to the guy who didnt stop or even ask if anyone was hurt...carma's a motherfu#%er:mad:

Ok rant over

I would have stopped, laughed at yer buddy, helped get the sled out and then hit him up for a beer at the bottom of the hill:D

I thought that this is just a given:confused: Your buddy would be owing be a beer as well if he didn't beat me for laughing at him while digging it out :D

My group would always and has stoped and helped. This has happened more than once for us. ****in idiots that don't help, I don't get it.

would have stopped for sure. i come to a crawl when people are stopped on the trail or anywhere. pull up next to them, and make solid eye contact, and then come to a stop. and ask if everything is good with them.

Stop, take a picture, laugh loud :D and then help..... You ALWAYS stop and help other people in the wild.

Last year I came across two guys standing by a single sled. I stopped to ask if everything was OK and then saw the second sled. It was sitting nose down in a little creek gully. Spent at least a half hour helping them get it out.

Of course you stop and ask. Only a D-bag would just drive by.

So he stopped, didn't see blood and raced off.....did you at least flip them off?

Stop and help, laugh like hell, beers in the parking lot later. I have met more cool people by helping them out.

i would of stopped, unless they were rentals and there were 15 people standing around all dressed in the same suit and bubble helmets and were chinese

I'm not surprised. Sledding has a fairly high concentration of dicks. You seem them parked in the turn arounds rather than along the road, so no one else can turn around, you see them racing in the parking lot, you see them throwing garbage around, you see them blasting through cut blocks topping trees, you see the pattern.

We always stop, and actually enjoy sled extraction missions, thats what it is about. We have even been known to tear into other peoples sleds to get them going again, but then again we have had lots of practice considering our group!!!!!!!!

i dont stop at every group taking a break.to many sledders around here.if i need help,i only expect people to stop if i wave them down, put up a hitch hiking thumb or the wifey shows some leg..

I always stop and help. What goes around comes around, and I may need the same one day.

What really pizzes me off though, is when you do stop and the group that needs help just stands there and watches you do it. insaneboltrounder/sjohns, myself and a few others were on the way into Gorman at Golden a number of years ago and some poor girl lost control on the trail and ended up way down in a cutblock pointed at the land of no return. There were roughly 8 in the group and they were all couples. We got there just after it happened and she was pretty upset about the whole thing. We went down and rode the sled up as far as possible, stuck it and got out all the rope we had. Everyone from both groups, including the women were on the rope pulling, with the exception of this girl's boyfriend who sat on the trail and acted like a complete bag-o-doosh. We got the sled back up after about 15 mins. Everyone in the group was gracious and thanked us over and over, with the exception of bag-o-doosh bf who was too good to come down and help. I was ready to beat him down with my lid by the time we were done...
