Timbersled skids and turbos.........

My Apex MTX has a Timbersled 162" rear skid. It's really light and transfers really well. I love it. My future plans include an MCX pump gas turbo, maybe an MCX 240 kit w/ bov or such. Nothing too big, but enough to raise the skis going up hill. My question: I know alot of boosted guys like coupled rear skids that do not transfer, like the M-10. But I like my Timbersled. Is anybody with an MTX running both moderate boost and a Timber sled skid?

Thx all.

Good

I cant say Ihave tried any other skid by I run the 240 hp with a 162 track and TS rear skid and I think it works great. Just enough ski lift to be fun, but you can pretty much adjust it to do what you like. I think its a good set-up for this sled. I wouldnt be worried at all. This is on a nytro though.

I have a 2011 timbersled on my Impulse Nytro running 17psi boost didn't get much time on it last year but the way I had it setup to there specs it actually kept the front end down too much gonna play with it to get a little more ski lift this year.

I can tell you just the skid and track made the sled a completely different animal

My next build will most likely have a Timbersled setup now that they offer some decent shocks. I like the m10 but it doesnt hold up to jumps very well. What skid you like best will depend alot on your riding style. If all you do is slay the steep chutes then an m10 is hard to beat, but like i said they dont like big drops.

Thx PhilSummers. I think the TS skids rock. That are very light and transfer very well. I had just noticed some big boost guys were opting for M10's and such. But your point about how you ride is well taken. I like the TS is an awesome slid for the MTX's, but I guess it's only good if it fits you and how you ride. Mine is a year old and came with Float 2's, which i like. A big upside also is add'l weight loss. My MTX is almost perfect now, just needs some boost, lol!!!!

i had the first ts skid work real good in most condition but i bent some parts on it from jumping too but i know they had adressed those weak spots on the first gen.the only thing i could not get it to do well was keep the skiies down in deep snow when climbing, but most skids wont do that but a m-10.

I am really happy with my TS skid. Wish I had the new '12 with the new adjustable rear arm.. But I have the Exits and LOVE the control! Amazing ride.

I have two nytros 1 with a timbersled and 1 with a racers edge M10. The racers edge is a lot better all around skid. Having said that I don't know if I would upgrade your ts skid unless you hit a lot of really steep stuff.

What year TS? From my understanding the 2010 (or '11 don't know what year for sure they changed them) are a lot different/better then earlier years

What'd they do this year on the TS rear skid? Mine is like new, but last year's edition. What am I missing, lol!?!?

Basically the quick adjust sliding mechinism to stop transfer or allow it is what I would love. It would be awesome to have it set to allow a good amount of transfer for boondocking/drag racing and playing around then when you pull up to a nasty steep shoot just twist the knob all the way in to not allow any travel and keep the front down.

I think they might have changed some other stuff but not for sure
