THUNDER MOUNTAIN LODGE RIDING/SNOW REPORT III

i want to personally thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers and wishes! Joe was one hell of a guy and will be missed a lot! he was one of my best friends along with many other great guys. He lived for the sport and will never be forgotten thank you all again. And we all know he is ripping the powder up right now as we mourn his passing.

Matt

God Speed Joe!!!

I personally want to thank Mark and everything he did that day. Mark you are one hell of a guy!!! I am more than thankful to have met you on Wednesday as well as my niece. God sure can throw us curve balls that we cannot explain.
Joe was one of those guys that loved life for sure, and the passion Joe had for the sport was like Mark put it "a disease", and everyone knows what that means. Even though we live in the flat lands of Iowa we dream of those pow days in the mountains every day! Joe my friend, we all know you are having that blue sky, over the windshield pow, and just hanging with all your best friends day and everyday!!! I will miss you!!! Someday I will ride with you. God speed my friend!!! BRAAAAAAAAP PSH
Thank you everyone for all the thoughts and prayers, I know his family and friends appreciate it more than you know!!!!

Uncle Randy

Looking good from all of the pics and videos out there. I'm going to have to come and get some for myself. Be there Feb 6-12, flying solo. Anybody in for me tagging along with em?

Hey Ryan, how did Dustins sled work yesterday afternoon? I sure feel bad for Dustin and his TURBO troubles. Talk about bad luck.:face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-fro

Dustin was lucky, he needed some duct tape and I was going to have him use the PINK I had but at the last moment I gave him Cat green instead. Matches Ryan go fast stickers!

NOT GOOD!!!!!!! The damn thing went down in a tight canyon near forest lake! Fuel pump went out on it! Took us 4 1/2 hours to get that (Boat Anchor) back to truck! Probably got stuck 30 times trying to pull it out of trees! Finally got out on forrest lake to Find 16 inches of slush on the lake That led to about three hours and countless stucks and ended up basically dragging sled by hand across the 400 yards of lake we had to cross! Pretty much brought a new level of hate for me for that old 1200! Dont think ill go ride with it again unless mark brings his Snocat to pull it out when it breaks!

The 5 mins of riding up to that point was a Blast though! Oh well price we pay for hp i guess but ill keep a trail in mind next time I ride with it and it wont be just me and him ha ha!

That BITES!!! Really good thing you and Dustin are as young and STRONG as you are. I'd still be up there.:face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-ton

Sorry for Dustin's misfortune. He deserves a break. It's gotta be really getting frustrating. The turbo blues. :face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-fro

What's the latest on the snow report/riding conditions? It's been a little quiet here lately.

Pretty sure not much has changed since the last report on 2/2. Next storm is coming sometime between Fri-Mon and will hopefully dump another foot or more... Should be some great riding to be had!

No new snow, but still plenty of good stuff to find! 2 days in a row without an issue finding great snow. Looks like some new stuff is to come in the next few days! Almost like spring time now - able to go wherever you want for the most part. I am glad I made the 19 hour drive to get here! Well worth it

This storm is starting to look good guys looks like we will be getting a couple more feet! lets hope its a little drier then the last stroms snow!

check it out http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=39.07837506689215&lon=-107.84385681152344 though!

Cant wait to get up there and ride!

Covelli Im coming on Sat if you want to tag along!

You are lucky to have alot of heavy snow the way you ride. I watched you digging in that left ski, sidehilling like crazy on a slope with lots of bumps still on it.:boxing:

Grand Mesa has a solid 12" of fresh, light Powder land in the last 24 hours. The weather gurus say another 10-20" in the next day. Mesa be looking good and even better with $1 PBRs everyday. Stop in, gauranteed you'll like what you find. Thanks, Mark
