Put down the crack pipe Obama lovers! We're blowing right past the recession into a depression! Screw those of us in small business who employ people and buy the goods, making the economy work, and wait and see what happens! Tax those like me more, when we already pay the majority of the taxes, and watch what happens! It will take $hit show to a new level! That said, our economy is much more complex than can be fixed or broken by passing a bill or throwing stimulus checks out the windows. As has been said, greed and mismanagement has kicked our butts!

I am not sure we’ve got enough fingers to point for this mess. Truth is a politician is a politician, they've all worked together to make big messes like our financial crisis, many people bought into things that wouldn’t last and didn’t, like sub-prime mortgages. Now we are all affected by it. Its funny, 10 months ago you couldn’t pay a bum on the street enough money to be a teacher in Utah, now there are so many people lined up to substitute teach that its ridiculous. I see what they mean about getting a degree, not pointing anyone out here but man it might of seemed unnecessary 10 months ago but tell me how many of us feel differently now? I would be interested to know if the majority of jobs lost recently are positions not requiring a 4 yr degree. What might of appeared like a lame job then is a hot ticket job now, any job is a great job to have now. Anyone have input?

True! Or, if you have a union job! He owes too many people for assisting in his meteoric rise to prominence, from never being heard of before about 6-8 years ago! In this case, the man on top of the mountain did just fall there, he was air lifted there by special interests and the media!

Well the media/special interests groups play the biggest role in every election, cant point the finger at one dude for that, they all do, this is the only way to be anyone in da bogment…one side bashes the other and we feed like hungry beers, a legal version of Bloods vs. the Crips…only sheep stand on one of a fence and toss stones at the other, im no sheep
Lets be real, Obama got 99.99% of the black/mexican/other votes….and many white folks simply voted for him because they did not want another “bush” in the office. That’s the only way I see it…

Money from special interest groups and lobbyists have ruined our government, IMO! I for one am NO sheep! I believe the government adopted by our founding fathers has been trashed and I'm pissed about it! (I've spent a portion of almost every day over the past month, losing money away from my job, meeting with legislators and lobbyists representing professions who oppose a bill I have presented. This is my first, close experience with our state government. I have become cynical and calloused as a result, and truly unimpressed for the most part!)

WOW I can hardly read this thread. I consider myself a pretty tolerant person sometimes but when it comes to politics its very difficult to see my friends say things that I believe to be so wrong.
I love sledding but it is about 24th on my list of priorities somewhere between keeping my daughters in their dance classes and boating in the summertime. As a Father of 4 and a Husband my responsibility towards things that are really important leave my own wants and desires on the back burner when things get squeezed. I sled only because I have been fortunate enough to provide well for my family. I am now starting to feel the pinch of this economy which has been brought to us courtesy of years and years of liberal garbage politics. Notice I did not say Democrat or Republican, I said liberal. Too large of Government and taking from one class of people and giving to another that which they dont deserve.

I did not intend for this to get into an Obama discussion I just wondered how many of my Utah sledding peers were thinking about their future sledding season being in jeopardy as i am. As for Johnnyq I understand your desire to keep thing positive but this is a forum and if we cant talk about current situations then what can we talk about. I dont feel my post was negative nor do I feel that everything should be positive. Have you ever listened to Amanda on KSL in the morning? She is always overly positive and one of the most annoying people on the planet!
