me thinks that if the manufactures can keep there head above water, at least keeping parts available and at a reasonable price i could live with that, cause in the long run bigger & faster does cost everyone money, including the poor dealer hanging on to inventory. who knows this should clean out the pipeline of inventory, which is good for everyone.
dont how this ties into this tread, but in the bike market, in 2006 honda produced 20 000 crf 450's, they only built 5000 2009 crf 450's this year, I think in the future the oem's are going reduce volume, which will increase demand, which will force dealers to sell at retail, rather than going for voulme and selling at wholesale then make the money on the deal in parts and acessories...
I was in Chaparral this weekend in San Bernadino and a new 450 was more $ in the US than here in canada. and they charged $900 for freight and set up, wtf?
Also, as somebody who works at a dealer, getting people financed has become way harder, minimum of 20% down, and if you even have a stich of bad credit your ****ked. Yeah, it sucks.
On a lighter note I got to watch bubba stewart ride this weekend

I have so much pree-orders for watercraft and ATV here, my biggest problem is to find a dealer in US which is ready to sell it to me.
I call few of this dealer and all told me the same story "bad economy" but no one is ready to give me a good price.

The only thing "BIG" this year from Yamaha is the new track on the Nytro and the BIG price tag associated! Good luck selling a sled for over $16,000 CDN in a bad economy! I feel bad for the dealers!
Yamaha's got a huge price tag on that machine you could almost turbo a 09 m8 for that price, i am just wondering how many pounds they dropped and it looks to me like they are still using a maverick probably a little different design but the maverick sucks, good to see the fox shocks and new tunnel. JMO
