Thefts in Laramie

I guess we've been lucky all these years. I've been going to Laramie since 91 and have never had a problem till last weekend. Will definitely be watching things more closely and might even put out some "bait" to see who bites.

Radio Shack said they have a wireless motion detector called the Reporter or Wireless Alert for $79. They said it has 1200' range from detector to base and positioned properly false alarms could be minimized. May have to look into one of these units.

An inexpensive, wireless baby monitor works well too! No false alarms either.

police sting

i like what ocdsledder mentioned about the police. why dont they set up some kind of sting, maybe they dont care about the tourists. but what would happen if we all quit riding in a certain area, the local economy would feel the impact. there are alot of businesses that depend on tourism dollars. i would think the police and businesses alike would not want Laramies name tarnished. maybe they want Laramie to be like the lawless wild west of the old days, if so i guess we will have to carry guns into Wyoming for our protection.

I would think that the hotels in town would want this to come to a stop. They should all be asking the cops to do a sting. It reflects really poor upon those places that have it happening alot.
