The thing I dont like bout the 4 strokers....

ya know come in here to have an intelligent conversation and than they let azzhats like you in! FYI, Biggest difference with 4s and 2s is the powerband. 4s generates fatter numbers thru the whole spread while the 2s has a steeper climb. Go get some dyno sheets and have someone read them to you.

If you call 'instant power' a steep climb in a dyno graph .....AFTER an engine has to work it's way into its powerband ---- you truly don't get it, and should probably Google - 'Idiot's Guide to Sled Performace' for some help figuring it out.

The Nytro MTX I drove was a dog at 10,000 ft, setup, was stock clutching. It won't be stock, in three weeks, when we try it again. It has nothing to do with the powerplant, it's all in the clutching.

My stock (for three more weeks) Apex was clutched very good, out of the box, now after 1500 miles, of 35 mile a day riding, it's bouncing off the rev limiter, under the exact same conditions.

My old RX1 was not even comparable, to throttle response and power to my Apex. I've never riden a Vector. Never riden a Phazer.

I've only riden a couple of good, hard hitting 2 strokes, that have better low end "snap" than my Apex. Both of those, were NOT stock clutching.

FWIW- the one sled was an 800 rmk, setup by indydan, the other was a 700 summit, setup by bigjohn

Gene; thats because you left them stock. My RX-1 pre SC hit hard but, I had the after market exhaust; 50 lbs of weight removed and the Holtzman Engineering Red CV carb springs. Those springs definately let it react quicker than the stockers plus increased the RPMs on top.

As for Himark's comments; I have ridden many two strokes and none have out accelerated the RX-1 (pre-SC kit). These sleds include the '05 M-7, '04 RMK 800, '04 Rev 800 '03, Viper Mtn, '04 900 MC, "Puddytat" (the LW MC that Janell Painter rides) and the wife's '05 RMK.

Now for ones I have raced (these are all after the SC of course); I raced gettnunstucks 800 Rev (geno has that video on putfile) Q-dogs M-7 (with and without N2O) and the "Puddytat". The only sled to out accelerate me was Q-Dogs when he used the Laughing Gas. Then it only did it for about 20'. BTW I'm willing to race anybody for the fun of it just to see how other sleds perform.

Himark,
4strokes have an amazing powerband!!! I think better than most 2smokes!!! But I'm not gonna be an azz about it like some people!!! Im just gonna give you my honest opinion!!! We need to go to the snowies sometime in January!!!

heck yeah I am up for that.. Just PM me when you are going. I am heading out there next weeked also if anybody else is out there shoot me a PM and i will check out your ride. tks...

Jimbo, I'm anxious to try yours again, with some fresh fuel. :) Rob is riding his Nytro MTX around here, (lots of snow) on the tail. He said it runs up to 9400. So we have some ideas for clutching, for Cooke. We think it will be harder on fuel though, so probably carry a gallon or so, of gas.

Nytro

The Nytro is in the 700 class.... The HP is in the the low to upper 130's. I rode the proto last spring during a big pounding of fresh snow at 9k-11k feet. I was switching back and forth between an 800 2 stroke and the nytro both stock. I liked the way the ntyro handled, it was smooth. It felt under powered to me. JHMO

Yesterday I had the opportunity to ride with three guys that have a variety of interests... 2 have the new dragons and one has the new XP rev ....

I rode all of them and have to say my stock 2007 Apex is bar none a far better power plant with snappier throttle and pull all the way through the power grid...

In fact we had the opportunity to run neck and neck several times and short of spinning a few times on launch due to the instant power to the ground I can achieve that they cannot.... I chewed them up from beginning to end period.

Funny part is... im still stock and they all have cans, reeds and other mods.

2 strokes? no thanks.

thats funny i raced one on sunday and guess what? he looked at a lot of xp tail light. keep dreaming.

The only thing that instant throttle responsive gives you is the ability to fug up the trail with your little brap brap brap ( so responsive ) and ruin the ride home for us. Atleast when we squash it leaves a nice small smooth hill to ride over :P btw my sled has the spool up time of a jet engine starting up, i have to spot the mogul 3 km's ahead if i wanna lift the skis :D.

The problem is.......... on the other side of your smooth little hill that I have to ride over, there's a fug'n trench 3 km's long because you wanted to jump that mogul :p
