fudge!! what a drag Mike! that is good new that it took about an hour off the trip though...bolt cutters, eh

Pat and I went up to ride yesterday, got a wild hair and drove up to Mammoth for the day. LOL conditions were decent, visibility was poor, raining when we first arrived. staged at the scenic loop, you could ride just about everywhere but down by 395 it was pretty low snow depth. we played up on the ridge for a bit, deep up there, lots of drifts to jump. can you say tracked up? i've never seen as many riders or tracks through all the meadows. we found some goods but I think the snow is actually deeper overall consistency @ Sherman and we have it all to our selves...shhhhh :devil:

everyone riding this weekend post some reports when you get back for us poor saps that are home.

Anyone for next weekend??? Then I'm booked the following 2 weeks after that, but The weekend of March 28-29 is free and thinking a group/club ride, that's a month to plan something big

Rode Friday Saturday Sunday at Sherman. Sherman road is very clear to porta potty. Trails were groomed with at least 2 feet fresh on top. 4 plus feet at unload porta potty. Sherman pass 6 feet with Whitney landscape sign exposed.

Bowl to yurt was good enough to climb anything there.
Bald mountain trail weas good with Bald mountain top ... Bald.

Only group of riders there Friday, Saturday had at least 20 riders, Sunday at least 8 riders.

Did almost 200 miles over the weekend.

Rode mammoth over the weekend, looking like mid march conditions and 50 degrees
during the days. Rode out of shady rest still ok for now but if we don't get more snow
staging will be higher. The groomer won't groom anymore until there is more snow.
Supose to go again last weekend of march but we will see how it goes.

Suppose to get 5 feet this weekl at Mammoth this week.

Was it crowded??

Not too bad on the trails, we parked at shady rest about 10 am, maybe 3 rigs in the lot, walked to mc donalds for breakfast by about noon shady was full

Back to mammoth this weekend, too tempting and it's my sons birthday so off i go.
Will post on monday. Will be at shady rest sat. morning about 930am if anybody wants to meet up. Jim

Haven't heard from anyone on Sherman, so we'll meet you up in Mammoth. Going to stay at the RV park and should be at Shady Rest around the same time.

Bluejay,

Make sure you print your own map out and carry it along. They have them posted along the trails but I get confused by them sometimes and end up going in a circle. Hit up Trail F up to the ridge past Minaret Summit.
