Ok So. Cal wake up from the summer slumber. Tommy, Don, and all, ya still with us and ready for winter? Figured August is finally about history and we can start looking forward to winter (I know we've looked forward to it since last winter, but you know what I mean)
Anyway, on the Bluejay front, summer's been up and down. I got divorced and moved to a cabin in Wrightwood. Yes I kept the sleds, Man has to have his priorities. Been working more than I should, but it keeps me out of trouble and helps to afford all that fuel I'll need this winter :D I am looking for a 2-up tilt trailer if anyone knows of one for sale. Doesn't have to be high $, top end type, just a good 'ol dependable 10 footer. I want to get away from the car hauler I was using, even though it was good for firewood hauling to camp, I need a trailer dedicated to the sleds and keep the hauler for the Jeep, etc...
Well, looking forward to getting things rolling and praying for early snow.

Good looking out, Bluejay!

Not much going on here, I wanted to head up to the ES4 premier but parents are in town visiting. Other than that, I've just been doing the same, work work and more work. I guess that is better than not having work though ;)

You're up to Wrightwood now? Cool, maybe we can truck pool sometime.
Looking forward to getting out...:beer;

yea Tommy, as soon as the snow flies we can hook up on the 14...... damn this is a loooooong summer

I have a 8.5x10 footer with a salt shield. Great shape. Maybe 7500 miles.

I wouldnt be able to get it until Mid October though, next time I go down south to my house there.

Paul,
May be interested. Have any pictures, price, info, etc... PM for my phone # if ya need.

thanks,
mike

Almost time to break out the sleds and get them ready guys...it's been getting chilly out @ my house. I think we have a warm spell coming this week though.

Put your hours in @ work now so we can have a few Saturday's to meet up and ride!

Oh yea... 33 this morning and a good chill in the air. Too bad we still have some warm ups coming, and 8% humidity isn't good, but it's a start to getting closer to sled time. Work will have to wait come sled time :)

Hey Bluejay,
I see we are neighbors, maybe we can ride this winter. Jim

Hi Jim,
Yea, for sure, we'll have to get together for some rides. Got the sleds out and cleaned up, just waiting for the snow to fly. I'm on Mockingbird, between Pine and Spruce, Truck and camper and old orange Jeep, stop by sometime if your out and about...... or ride over if we get some snow :D

mike

Mike,
Not around much during the week cause i'm working my a@# off, i will try

I'm in the same boat as far as work... probably be down the hill on Sat, hopefully home on Sun. Always got cold beer in the fridge :beer;

Went to the Panamint mountains last week, which is the western edge of Death Valley. Fun little storm blew in for a few hours on Sunday and we got about 6in of snow starting at 5000 ft. Not everyday you can play in the snow in Death Valley. Just thought I'd share some pics of some white stuff, now I'm REALLY itching to get the sled out.

Did you bring a sled or pull anyone behind the jeep?

So ... uh if you get good snow in Wrightwood where do you ride?
The storm for Thanksgiving is suppose to be cold and provide 3 or more inches of rain with snowfall at ???? elevation.

My inlaws bought a "cabin" near the High School in the town next to Big Bear.

Can you ride there?

Don
...

not many "legal" places to ride, gotta travel to Sierras

Sherman may get hit from the upcoming storms, might try a road ride this weekend if it materializes..... FS now has the trail signs and warming hut up and functional.... will keep an eye on webcams and radar.... Hopefully this is the start!!!

They keep lowering the temps here in Los Angeles for the week.

Overnight Lows in the Los Angeles area this week will be below freezing.

With the highs in the 50's.

As far as rain ... depends on how much moisture comes
